Key Responsibilities & Duties:

. x' ~9 J6 Z' k; B Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
, t/ i; C3 J$ l  O  q; ^( U6 g% y1 } Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
0 }, D) R2 j0 g1 q: ?' g Completing required paperwork.
0 R. J- [/ Y7 m4 w& j2 s Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
' N1 s% `  V, F Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
8 i2 S& F% ?. M4 |7 U" Z
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
  _3 ?* I7 B" D Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
" A; S8 l, b& N0 W5 S( E& e; N; I Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
7 e: Y0 {1 P* g' Y5 q% N: n% Istarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
