. x' ~9 J6 Z' k; B Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.8 u0 Y5 `- y5 d: X6 z5 y
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
, t/ i; C3 J$ l O q; ^( U6 g% y1 } Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.

 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information. . I* R1 K" D9 @- x: |* I, z# [
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.) v5 e8 ]" e$ n. s- Z3 `
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.5 _: F6 e$ i# a6 i
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.% G5 p' F5 v) ~) T
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.9 g: j0 L# `% s$ z; l

Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.; M* n" ?4 `- E- G0 r5 R' w/ T
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
_3 ?* I7 B" D Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
" A; S8 l, b& N0 W5 S( E& e; N; I Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.* v( T7 W* ]: a( ~/ y- g
 Knowledge of community resources.4 ]5 k- y9 J" L m0 l1 h8 {" l+ G
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.) o- x7 _4 `- M6 U" _" t
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training. ' d/ O; r2 D) f" e: L0 h

Position:9 G' k8 ]0 T4 Q) O& o1 ^" u
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
7 e: Y0 {1 P* g' Y5 q% N: n% Istarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
