New Program-‘ Tweenie Program’ (Ages 8-12)
Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
7 ?+ R2 V, {& g: f) q3 [" ] Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
5 s' W& y6 @! O9 R8 Q Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
8 _8 R/ u+ s9 e Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
+ z7 A8 {% i' W3 h6 S( U. e, F2 T/ y Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
9 ~6 O3 G6 N4 E- c0 \ Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

5 I8 N+ z  R( ], rQualifications:

* ]5 p4 A8 w" r1 z Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
9 J0 ~4 u& P, f0 k4 y; a: a  J Knowledge of community resources.
+ k% ~, [* P: p" [+ y Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
& x: D2 ]) f' G" i: ^$ o Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

7 n) J# z  y& E! UPosition:
& l+ L( G, Q' ^# X* bThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
