Key Responsibilities & Duties:
, D$ L3 B# [  F3 T$ Y6 U% {
 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
& ~, H6 }2 z3 h5 d" U Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
9 S4 ]4 C( T3 i4 v- } Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
, k& C1 u+ J9 z1 V8 j Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
( K, K# V8 M# m$ Q) F Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


/ Y; |% l2 k6 o& u; J3 z# AQualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
0 {% U# Z' ?2 \6 U Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
+ Z8 R: D) [0 c: Z, g$ u7 r Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
1 F* x* m% u1 _# S9 _9 r8 w. m# p- c Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
* ?! ?9 z+ H$ Z Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
