Key Responsibilities & Duties:

# X: v/ _/ W" d' x& W* c- c/ ] Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
8 a1 F; i8 M& A. _% y Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
! i( `! v5 f/ S# A7 f+ B Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
- w, _+ v5 u6 c, N1 l8 L, {5 ~ Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

9 C/ T; r; i" }# h  y1 G6 a
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
( _3 N: H/ n) Z# N Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
) \; C. H. Y$ D. q3 b1 N; b$ | Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
