The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

Job Responsibilities:

- ?9 }( c0 ?4 r4 C: X5 ]• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
. N w4 Q0 r* s• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
, w9 O; L$ a: E1 B( g• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
5 w' g# }8 b; k' O, }( U6 p0 [• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
& z9 l3 t- w. g0 {+ n• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program." G. \1 I- e/ v$ j2 A% w
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
$ t& O8 s" o, u% C• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.0 f6 w9 K X0 A5 ?
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities3 Q5 }$ ~) u0 y8 n7 w6 L! q
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
% I8 d/ e- }/ n/ E' z% m }* s• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

6 x' U& A7 V# J4 q$ A% \# d+ Z: r3 S• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
' k. H. ?1 [/ r; l, l- [+ L+ }# ~• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation; T0 v% c5 i2 W" c. N: z8 h" A
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
( F1 H: o. K/ y: ^• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department* e/ V, N' L1 s+ E: e
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
, S5 W9 U$ M% x) L+ I. T8 H• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
8 O4 a3 r% l, w/ w• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services8 Q( e Q& n! A/ y: n1 c
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
; M' _& r) T7 i' g• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required, T, K7 a# L9 x1 [3 _* h

3 D a' k: M j( j7 U: R6 T• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
9 c4 Z7 a8 w; o8 m @5 a8 ?3 Y/ [• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)9 l, A$ N1 _/ D" b& [: B
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate ! S, `9 j/ \ i# o9 N( h
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required8 T, @) c$ T( e! D5 N

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination. C( `- b: K# r) M
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability9 R: D8 t R% f

• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects

• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
