The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. OPERATIONS
7 v* N: ~) j+ i) O7 _& ?• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.0 A! B0 G5 C/ m y
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
, k4 q" _ }* Z6 o+ x0 G• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge% r1 O* d) |' m$ z5 o
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
# v! R3 {9 b" j+ _• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.! X' Z$ B& M8 `1 H* J( ?
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.! ^$ g* a* K6 d$ J
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.' O, C5 S6 u# F! ^+ c# p# j; M' V
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
8 N( g. s( w; r' L u* o) ?* i• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required% j% O& Z; ]3 K1 l% d' T$ u

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO7 T2 n$ K) R( M6 @" p+ W* x
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
3 k/ J, B( K. m u• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
4 Q8 Z+ u# A- {& D( \, x) D4 I1 X. h• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate5 W7 \8 J+ v) W, D
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department, z+ a, X# V, I$ g
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required , p8 b2 N8 }( |, E. Y/ \
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency- ~6 d7 w" z# X& F) T2 r/ ^& ~( \
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
! O8 d$ @* H& J3 y p! A• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances5 f9 a+ P+ x e* V1 N# D
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

- u2 E0 F/ ^+ @% L6 U( WINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS0 t& N0 v4 A1 ?' v) n0 Y# M' S
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
" B: v5 w! a" g• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)* r" _- Y7 i7 Y- U0 H5 V
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 6 R/ P1 u) }% G" C9 k% p
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required5 P; ?. W. m/ n- d8 X4 {

Qualifications:
: m& }, H( ] A; a/ \- E4 G' a% O% `! n% P
• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
' |9 C% P3 \$ Y• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability$ G" ? g2 S" T$ |* n$ [/ u
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills; P4 i) {/ S- U0 Z( a8 ?- K
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
4 S3 {5 G& E4 ]- L: U• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure3 A3 X! x. d) H! x. m
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects 1 v9 @! R5 F* {
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality6 ]! B# c) f$ B O
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial 0 y3 Z3 t, ]" t9 U% V: Y
