The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.) s7 d5 a! x; F

% X v# C2 D7 A- TOPERATIONS
/ P; v ^/ J+ j' Y/ C• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.* R+ f# ^6 l" u- B2 F- V' W' m
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services. P4 G. E' S2 f+ o+ \# ?
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge* g D a1 F9 e$ s! p# S2 l
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
# P* A$ C' W: V5 s• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
5 N2 S2 I! l! q• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.

• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
3 h( E0 ^; e# \+ [# D• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required B0 ^' c5 v( e( s7 x

, n9 r7 ~7 ~, L0 ?5 ]" [2 t• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
6 ^' h7 N, w2 V- u2 s+ o E• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION% D* ]( j5 B( R+ ^* ^! K
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
5 h8 R( N1 M+ T% o2 o• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation4 w6 B3 E% Z& w. T2 p- k- V/ M
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate! ?9 U: B6 h. ^& x! T/ d
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department% x( X$ O2 d; E3 a. g, U. r
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
5 O! i, g5 C$ v• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
% [9 {6 k- a) D( w• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Prepare a regular monthly program report1 K1 a! ]4 b" O4 w! l/ T$ H2 J

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances, k, V. g2 t, R# b
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required+ C1 b8 ?6 d2 n- S4 Q

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
8 ~( w. S+ ]" n# L8 s4 L2 [3 U! z• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
2 _* | F! \2 V9 j2 K• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta); s8 ~2 U2 m( \2 y
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
# g& v4 W% X- X: J! D( H Q8 }• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

- F' c6 m' l, D$ h6 ? \7 m• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination" _0 K) @2 ~5 E O2 D1 N' [7 F4 C0 j: v
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
