The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization.  This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.7 D% {0 m) D$ \  Q9 S

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week.   The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

, O: \' B! l; uOPERATIONS  f- }) m6 ^9 Q
•        Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
+ K7 ~8 \5 t! R4 Z•        Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.- i  j/ K0 t! a- ^& ?
•        Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
5 p; s* t! T3 D( J) \% v; `" ~7 u•        Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
2 X' @  q+ b+ k; }8 M•        Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
- E3 _3 j$ B/ ^3 z5 a•        Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
+ D% x/ [! n3 t6 A- u•        Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
/ I! l; b7 [8 r( I•        Facilitate placement of  practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities: A2 ?0 X, C  w# v
•        Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required% b/ o; j; x$ w1 i' s5 {& n

•        Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
$ s* \  V$ U% g8 U•        Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up
* ?+ C% }  W1 S5 w! f7 n1 J4 u2 d
$ b. u; L7 @5 ^- v! B& d! d7 T- H3 uADMINISTRATION4 w- R% V8 E. n
•        Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position% z; N+ W- w+ u3 s
•        Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation& K) n: J0 d" z7 r& ~7 l1 `
•        Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
" Q8 z4 L+ W. c•        Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department# y5 I4 Q' z& O% l9 B; f' |- j
•        Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
+ y, O" w0 i; j•        Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency( d% ^0 ]2 Z. a5 V, u
•        Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
  x8 S' _( ]( n( u9 i- C•        Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes
+ n* e2 L; Q4 m7 c•        Prepare a regular monthly program report5 C$ W" j/ j0 r% N$ _& t

FINANCE
$ V" h; G, y4 k3 f•        Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances$ X1 F5 F7 w& V* |% T: t- @
•        Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required: X% F2 ]" L3 I! s

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS5 v+ A. t5 [; g9 p8 X3 |# z" S
•        Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers$ S" H9 X8 u* K  j6 ]8 O. y% u
•        Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
( M) j7 j' g. ]- ^•        Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
- [# o5 q& w  h& m•        Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required
# k2 _( E3 l; X+ W" w, ~# ^1 X& D# H- W$ w, E6 D
Qualifications:
" R- V, E0 n1 w$ E4 z/ f$ N
) K$ i" Z8 J/ P•        Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination/ q4 S8 {) {' H! O% w
•        Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability( l" P/ p& r" A$ ^3 y  v
•        Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
9 |1 m/ e: Q" @8 E•        Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
+ \1 p% W+ G1 f) n- J7 j•        Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure8 P) X$ M- S9 V9 o: e! J
•        Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects 5 z: [. ~) M- Q
•        Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
" c6 D5 O8 B- U/ `/ n0 Y•        Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
