The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

OPERATIONS
: {0 _: @+ x( R4 B2 E• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
- m B9 L+ t4 ?• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
) b1 {+ v/ ]; p( m O6 Z• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
, c. M# E) S: p0 V* R• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills." B2 y! K# @8 I' E( J0 M( ~( \9 v
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.( K6 n) u$ b- h* V2 B ^5 j- c
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
7 n9 d6 l0 D0 F- i8 M• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
& L8 Z0 r6 s! C6 I$ Z1 |• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
% w% A9 i' R. }9 q• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required, S6 g" H& t4 V) }* g+ Y4 C6 ?

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING " d9 T0 f. `/ k1 i# b
• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO( b( Y$ V9 }" f& ~
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position0 }2 m0 N, Y8 \- N
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation0 H0 G- G" G/ P6 E% }) K
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
+ ^ B$ Y2 g4 {• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department/ e. x3 P& }7 m+ f8 m' M: ]
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
! i% ?9 \( J9 u• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
7 V- E$ a( m# W5 j9 l! E• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services( ~4 q4 v0 Z8 I/ Z; f5 E
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes; V. v& y7 T; s+ L4 h' h" A
• Prepare a regular monthly program report

$ ]; {* W0 s) f# R' p1 w; T \: F/ X• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

0 @7 ^# s' z9 m2 p/ n6 [• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers; _# G) a: y; H; n
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
3 F: |+ ^0 \* f& q• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate ' N B9 W& N2 e0 f2 ~
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
% e- U4 z; `& F g- O0 S0 z! Z1 R+ v• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability, w; N( `) r1 a1 @2 O0 W# _
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills `5 g, ^& p1 G2 `+ H- Z. b
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills . T4 K2 y( i( p) f; }4 a1 Z
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure5 l$ j) | R) ?6 D8 J c
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects % \& [; E2 J4 Y# o
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality, ?- H$ S- o3 J0 S
