Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre


Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
- ^3 w; H( e: c' z) ^8 Y% e Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
* R  q5 H7 ~4 a  `+ V; P% y Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
- ~0 n. c& x6 g) \3 a* g7 e Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
, ^  j' r2 Y; O. R! | Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
" m4 |% m! u% F- D# u Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

5 i, W4 a6 m7 m Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
2 C: Y: I- x+ b* Z' d, B8 }. [  K Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.

' S3 x% L: j; t Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

6 [% M0 J6 L, D6 y5 Z: E! B7 ]This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
4 t/ ~, v" b5 \8 ^' V1 Gstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
