 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
& g; W; q* ^9 g2 V8 H; j+ a Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
3 M9 @, I6 a: p( ~9 w# o. J Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
. r3 G  N8 b, T9 v Completing required paperwork.
& R2 [( E- b& j6 M2 m$ q Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.! G( O$ c$ x- F6 C! L5 y( h9 e
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.  C1 A& n5 B0 c% l
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information. * m$ s3 V+ C. ]# I8 c7 }
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.$ T( y, {) [* f( [8 b+ X
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.) g" x( h7 n; K4 t: i
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.9 X/ v0 K! R: ~' M
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.' U: q4 [2 @6 z4 b! u6 y$ i

7 c  U% S9 I$ W/ M, m" S3 l. KQualifications:
( T9 T3 l& T3 z$ T$ ]8 s+ S4 S" |  P9 @% k. f, Q
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
5 t' i3 ?& D+ k, t6 {7 [" G Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.* d5 I8 p5 t, E' [+ z; p
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
; ?4 {' \" M0 I Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.$ a1 @1 ~) r) C% E  I  T  \
 Knowledge of community resources.
, Z( `3 l! Y& v3 g Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.: }& u# n! b- e0 _9 L6 ?( l
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training. " Y4 d# w! Y6 R7 S

Position:& v) d" V# ~$ o+ R
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
7 [* I7 y4 ^5 \/ P& |starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. : ^. w! n; A: R% ^+ B
