! i5 W+ u7 O9 {0 O9 MAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
( F0 Y* T: E' ~& D! S( X• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
" T  ?1 i1 [# G" _3 `+ \• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
' E" u3 q9 K* k7 ^: I5 G0 n• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
, K  @8 ?9 U# c" h( d  E" p• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
! I& W6 Q  _: g6 ^: o  w• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

+ V+ s+ n; z- R$ @SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
# h/ k* @; }7 R; {2 C/ R+ e6 s2 V• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
% P! L6 i4 _/ c! u• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
. A7 u' F' O2 J) m% A  k* ?6 r• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
2 X5 u$ G8 o, \• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
$ u0 w' \4 U, q* s4 _  l% k• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
6 x, d# e. c1 q4 y6 P( p# B• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
3 `$ u  P0 [* w) Z$ {% X8 s• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
