FUNCTION:
$ K" }# N$ B: F6 PAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
5 T4 E: H" N; a' `; z• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
" G! b1 _& H: H' P& I7 G• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
+ b: R/ T+ V( z( }0 o3 F7 ^& v  J• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
% f/ t9 b3 q5 v! K* ~• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
7 K7 {- q* Q' F8 F7 `+ M• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
4 O* D8 u% E% B/ I• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
/ Y" m% M# q6 Y4 J$ j( t+ M# Z' _+ C• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
3 Z" F8 Q6 m( k- E( x( }1 K• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

) V4 ^6 o' _( o+ m0 Q2 r  K3 FSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
5 k/ ^  {4 `- U3 J% f- L  l' y3 s• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
# a- R( \7 G/ P( K• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
1 z7 @' J5 p9 m9 s: W$ }% a% y  n( z• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
) H) O1 ?) h! H8 _• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
