. q+ t5 |. |2 Y/ ^$ C: }$ KAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

" F, [% d* x- Y) }2 l0 P2 t- {DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
  Z" `- G/ p( W# C' w% `• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
9 B$ p2 e! s# C0 Y' k+ \9 ?$ HBi /Reporting/ETL
, b' n0 v" Y# R& p4 O& n% r• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
9 c& [( r5 c4 N• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
  l0 a  v+ G5 `9 ?& j2 l3 F+ _• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
8 r, h' |# e6 y  @• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
' p' F/ Z" w$ W* U• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
0 V: M# I2 A/ o' R4 i8 b• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

) O3 {9 |, @$ G$ S. fSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
/ k! G) P+ n6 D: v" m/ e• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
2 {; h( ?8 f# U" ?2 ?9 x1 |• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
" F( i3 z3 E& `3 Y6 p• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
( j* j' K8 Q, i! G* A5 G! e• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
6 m2 n4 `0 ]* q• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
7 e4 L) B' o8 q2 C$ G$ C• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
/ k8 O9 D, ^9 c  q" N• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
