& {4 p; v6 `& x. T0 KAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
" `7 {- {' ^( m& D, l• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
; H) j$ _/ a% w+ P! v• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
+ n/ b7 _  ^9 ?& j- M+ U" E• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
1 O$ f/ q0 K0 Q2 O6 {• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
7 V# P8 B. ]5 W7 R• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
: ?( f2 E4 k- W' g* q• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

/ i  o  R+ Z- @' K' K$ M$ P) nSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
8 q' u$ n, Y  {8 B• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
& z0 b9 D9 c  D0 Y$ w+ d; j• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
2 g, D" G$ p3 u# M4 t* P* ], L• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
6 {6 W1 `. Z! U$ U! U- k) F9 U• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
