Primary purpose: The Social Worker works in partnership with settlement workers or
# s6 O) V+ i3 F& O* ]community cultural brokers from New Canadian Health Network partner organizations to

Nature of Work: The Social Worker will report to the manager of mental health services. " z! B/ Z- U% s5 H. }/ d' r n
The position builds working relationships with New Canadian Health Network partners’ staff,
7 H* j" I) O- w' K& L; j6 B6 tnewcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social ; j2 A: Y5 Q% {/ m, t( w
Worker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as
1 q# w/ i/ f: G7 u0 fneeded. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for
% i0 w, @+ L! N- p) ]% l9 O; c$ ~* |newcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial
9 ?3 ?+ t6 P5 Q2 E8 C. y/ wassessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-

newcomers in settling and fully participating in community.

support needs

Proficiency in both official languages is an asset, as is fluency in other languages
