What Makes Christmas Magical

pleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then + ^7 U* }0 f- g/ Z+ h% n
eat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can
/ ?5 N  P( i% f2 G* S; d) @smartly avoid it?$ j" D6 v  S- j$ t. v( M
?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out
$ ~; M& h4 B! l5 U& fat a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem 8 ^2 ~1 L) G5 r5 g
to be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of , K: F9 S; [* e  }
moderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a
9 r# q& Z4 J* F6 tBudget.'

1 F9 t8 K/ C% _2 ]3 t$ Bbe something like, 'Uh..no..bah humbug' all the time that some Christmas goodies
$ V& X+ f( R* sare offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays
$ Q& O7 ?' R6 v8 n& B4 ~* F, T' xespecially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more 6 q5 _( J" j) L6 k
relaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower.
0 j' n0 a5 J$ Y* M  {0 e. p?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to
) p; O/ G9 ?* V3 Rsubstitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with . A+ f# x7 Y# l9 k, v( j* d6 f
breakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie,
% `6 ]5 o+ u0 a* [" H4 C. Y" Y- k4 Pfrom the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to 7 |1 c2 }: v' e1 n! N/ N8 V/ V7 m6 G
tell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into

be watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or

and candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating
& X* B9 a/ D' G8 Zhealthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down # Q0 {0 \. B! k  C' q* T% @
upon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate 1 f* S0 ~0 o* N5 @" ?% e
candies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies.

At a party where more desserts and sweets are likely to be available, a few of : C; Q0 ~; n8 ^9 S- A
the selections can be sampled. If the urge to try everything can't be resisted, $ k6 f2 C  o4 [8 m8 M9 ?
then do so, but then second helpings have to be severely limited. The same is
