5 ?( R: \4 O8 @4 [( r! x pReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

6 E: S8 X2 N$ U) f• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
: y7 f0 O7 J4 y: x& a& A' z+ R0 W6 Dthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
$ o b& l& z* U) Vthe Board of Directors; 3 p' s( t- s4 c
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations * H |+ T6 d4 {: I/ D0 ?* y# D
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
: l) N0 Z, ~7 e: kenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
+ T; @7 S; @# R v" f. v• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
t+ P) I$ v; D% d9 j* Y4 j G+ mobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
# L% Z5 M ^/ w. C% r7 _6 X• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
# I+ A% p$ u |0 R, @the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ; C* M% h- I$ c: p& p; m4 S
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the $ t: Q4 D" Z q( {
changing needs of the organization and community; 0 {! E2 G+ I2 v9 K" u8 }4 R9 {
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ; F7 z1 X$ f4 s
commitments; ; V* s8 D/ O# r$ A# R
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; & K ]6 D$ k( p$ }1 O
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
7 B: ]! N3 |% u. \3 tselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; - @. {- N' ~' }6 h: n
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 6 Q! Z$ {5 q0 X: n; c; o; }. @4 I
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 1 k* g0 s9 @+ R+ H" b' m; ^1 s

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
3 |9 z9 D+ f* Pthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; . o+ X# U0 B! O) a4 Y" z& F
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal : k3 {* \1 ]4 C1 u/ b; x. L
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
' O6 P3 S9 z! H& wthe forthcoming year; + H' x8 E6 k8 [( H, A6 M/ j
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
0 D5 S9 S" p qpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 2 Y8 r! s& [9 h
YWCA Canada; and

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; # o: y. Y: e* H* Z3 k3 q
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, . ^; G7 `1 f: [* z g: j, a

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
