Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

/ }$ N7 n9 V$ h/ k• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
) E. X; c: |: N3 ethe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
9 v0 d! j$ v' K1 h9 Pthe Board of Directors;
0 N( S6 d( ?; V• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
2 L$ u5 E" B4 x% D( hincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
/ _/ E* ]4 V2 q4 v& uenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
' K! U* A- T. Y6 a% S• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and

the board;
}! O1 ?+ ?+ H% A1 ~6 z• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ! K' r# L, h0 X
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
, J# |2 a) {2 y5 P4 H6 N6 Wthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
1 ?6 c5 {+ m6 W0 H' B0 _• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 5 L- \2 m$ Z7 S% R0 d
changing needs of the organization and community; 5 g+ P( G1 X, G5 K# D
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
4 X# A* u% p% a7 l• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
- O1 @4 p7 o! Y% ~1 ~, V4 Zselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; * q9 l! {" W3 `9 q7 a
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ( w# c7 U* ]- h: B
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
# {5 v8 H( d" o; \effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
% u! b! u0 }) {9 cthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; " u, t8 m8 p# R7 Z- w
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal : ?1 b( I3 r0 ]" Q" r; R
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
) S% ~5 N3 P6 h( W& L. y% Gthe forthcoming year;
& p" p2 U* p6 R* U/ y% g0 O, x• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical , Q5 @% J& p- H( R
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. p" |5 u2 r! A2 U5 Z' {5 y
& ^( @3 n" a4 `: D. i) ]" W1 ]5 GRequired Experience
% }4 o, q/ P& {; J) ^' x• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; - K! {% A* p F& L7 d/ d4 S* y D! E
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
; F' m; V# F4 T6 f, W* O ]abilities; # i) ~ D* S+ A; h' q. N, z
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
6 W& N; t/ x) P' v9 w! n! L6 ~/ RNetworking and Fundraising;
