Two cutler –hammer advantage starters are doing the same thing:
, h6 B7 W( L. ], E After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the start and stop buttons on DCS screen , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again.
7 W9 D8 \# W( F9 P( RIt is a cycle.% k# d% T: @. A2 A5 H. I
. K* z! e% h0 ]2 vWe isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.# Y+ u8 @: V5 I0 A( `- z( c
Swap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.2 a& @# ?1 f# t+ D+ z |& X
The problem should be inside the bucket." ]* G. h& I. {4 H4 F/ ~
/ U" G& O6 E7 ~( GWhen the problem happened, we observed that the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.
: d+ N; I/ z: fUse a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.0 z7 k+ K! |6 T8 _- a
Confirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same.; F6 `& v$ n5 \0 x( w

3 z3 j' j/ v) L6 s) `They have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered the connection and tried again.% R% M8 K8 N& p# j% X
It is getting better this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working.
