Responsibilities
Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
+ j( @$ H; d2 e2 CWorks co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
' U0 R, c* W- b. p3 g& \1 CMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
$ P* |' s: T  V  n9 |Maintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
4 H& I; e5 u0 L1 @& QIs knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
# G+ z' i" [, a8 [Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
Qualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
% H* }+ g! E% _  i$ JMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
Computer skills an asset.
0 I& O  n+ I- x: Y# I7 M! fAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
