Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.
Terms: Full-time (35 hours per week).
! z( `& a" U* |# v$ R0 G+ e" h2 S: m0 dCompensation: Based on experience & qualifications.

Responsibilities:
-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
) y* p# G2 l! \) L) F/ j5 S! p-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
! _$ g1 z; m/ U& t& e/ Z: a-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

" t$ T1 s$ t, ?2 KKey Qualifications:
-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
-        Experience doing program development
-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
& Y, R! R) V# f* G0 r6 u+ Y-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
: H  f, e2 d, E5 Y- j4 ]* M( c-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
3 m- Y9 n# E" g, T* P, p0 ^-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license


Assets:
8 V& j8 q0 n0 e' n3 S6 @2 k-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
6 `+ S1 t& M0 \5 \. i6 Z# w-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
-        Skills in marketing & promotions

Other: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police security check and child welfare check at their own expense.
