Compensation: Based on experience & qualifications.

Responsibilities:
-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
) m, e% D5 s. \( N% s; v-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
" D( Q  c: N9 z' q-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
* t5 J' h  ?2 Y, m& U8 ?" v1 r-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:
-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
6 B% v' ?/ b) v; K0 ~, n3 r  |-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
-        Experience doing program development
-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
" N5 F+ \' P& R7 B  z, d8 \-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

Assets:
& }4 P+ e9 s3 }! l" V-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
; V* P: K, P" r" P- q. B# n; d-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
7 w  W- [' u2 Y-        Skills in marketing & promotions
$ \6 z5 T$ Q( }9 r: ^" x. J-        Some evening and weekend work may be required

Other: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police security check and child welfare check at their own expense.
