) R/ B4 s6 L% d8 J5 P0 g: J The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
-  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
# d2 ?- a' {9 c-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
5 ]" l4 D! @" Z' r) b9 Y-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
# [- a8 _; n& X% E-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;

Education/Experience  
8 S$ r" W' `5 G1 E9 p/ S - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
  |% {& G8 P+ B! f5 [+ }-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
3 y) |' c  r4 W; H! _" D-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
& i4 o/ R/ q/ u! S% C-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
