' n. G9 N! u# D8 g  q3 I  u9 rThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
) q* o: g3 E- D9 @% B! z- bEligibility Criteria
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
3 h% |+ Z8 J: O+ [) h6 z•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
2 ~+ U/ k" e) l6 N2 b•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
4 z( w% H! ]9 F) \0 D•Be eligible to work in Canada
4 u& `: }0 W7 ?/ J- C•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
# J$ {9 ~3 q0 u6 a5 V$ @$ N•Lack access to professional networks
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning
Time Commitment
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
