THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:

, d3 D: r) V' P0 n' GThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.6 h- A; c. }) ?) c
Eligibility Criteria0 Q+ {- h! G: n" ~# m
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria: b4 Y) r; U7 v
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less& m' A, `% f4 o7 ^" Q- C6 D; r
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
' `. V s9 m0 a' v4 W" s) r* t8 N•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English# n! w3 U' p; f5 k1 {
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada % j0 y6 h- X; A6 O% X2 j
•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
6 u0 [& H+ a7 h* Q, u: d•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less2 d# ^3 h$ ?* F1 A; \
•Be eligible to work in Canada* i" f ?+ G, C2 P% T* J5 m: M% [% G
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop8 _% Y, p6 q, _4 ~. F& V: N
•Lack access to professional networks
! ?- Q) r. M6 L% z" {6 ?" d! c6 W•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning
! `; R, H' B; ^+ vTime Commitment. G; `# w# p4 ]$ a% J( b* Y8 A
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
