Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.3 }/ v1 t( Z1 z3 f& U
; e# i% }' b7 [: g) W0 w6 q, RCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.1 ~& `9 b0 p( T$ V5 i4 K! f! O. f

1 ?6 } {& v, K( X( u2 ~• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.6 K! X8 g/ o/ r7 g m8 \) i8 \

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance., l: }. `& @& w! e

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.. F( g2 m" U0 _

! E9 i+ G* X1 I) P0 W• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.; h, k$ p0 w6 c

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.2 A, Y8 |9 E* w3 l, Q3 b
* m- W5 O" V: o+ a$ ^• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.6 Q! M R1 l! I

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.4 W( T5 h% s# S* ?9 b
+ |! Z/ \/ _" W/ ?' T• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

/ e" m5 e2 `& O' ]) D4 A• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.)
