7 M; p. P! R- D, J- kEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: 9 ~$ G" X J% q. N
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
2 k: w( c7 s5 p6 U· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
0 M, i/ d) q8 Y2 R5 L& d/ N; W2 Kwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the : f7 F2 m+ C0 E3 z5 M7 L
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
3 B; `8 d3 }$ ~6 O' M9 @$ Y$ C$ wset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. . y5 ^5 _) ^$ w# Q3 y" h
· Attend and manage Special Events

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: ( N% d& a0 b; |0 e: Z* m) L" n# N
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions ; d3 p. P! e' p9 N2 t; p( u
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
- K+ V6 n7 J# X5 m· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers " Z; T4 L# A3 V$ F1 g0 G3 @
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
# q( b' k+ x8 V2 ^' F0 @- f· Complete program administration, statistics and records

Qualifications: 5 e7 q# ~3 I# }. |+ F
· Completion of 12th1 Z- O, v8 s3 t' r* u- B
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation 1 X$ E$ N7 l& A, d/ J- K
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. 4 F2 T) w" e# T
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
8 Z! s F' d, t* G% D5 q$ pexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events 4 X6 K8 B0 x4 _5 \
· Experience working with and managing volunteers
% ?9 ], o- z* q2 L( E· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
" x8 A4 M7 j; |- F· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
; x' b1 {3 c0 A$ k' L· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

$ b0 R% w; J( G- YHours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
