Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
' m6 n. @" R3 {: a1 PEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: / o1 k4 g8 y$ t7 s0 V! G

Duties: Special Events
8 q8 a/ v* o/ P2 l& FPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events: 4 r/ c" |$ k; z
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee ' A/ I4 Q+ W* \5 o: v: B+ D; _
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist ' M* y7 P: ^: L! J2 m9 b/ p: J
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
$ |1 n: G7 M* n P4 v& kadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure , ?3 a8 K0 z/ z
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 0 [9 ~! l1 f/ e
· Attend and manage Special Events ' o! {; x; X2 k K0 g
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee . O+ V! c I2 ]+ H6 L3 u
0 I( m2 l5 }- `5 g. VDuties: Volunteer Coordination
" I6 [! c% t0 t/ BAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
! C( z0 L9 |! {· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions , s( c; T6 d8 M( f2 @1 V
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
; K& Z5 B+ o" j* a& g( _) b7 C· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers ) P' J v2 E3 r: U5 Y
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers I9 S4 {; R9 }$ R" o# y" w& D4 p; F/ ]! O
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

Qualifications: ; B! s$ K1 a5 C; U* _* ^
· Completion of 12th+ ]( X5 S# {4 C+ |
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
6 ^; {! w. z% aAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. 0 T6 B' F/ @2 t# r6 ~; ?
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct ' u" O5 J' {% Q2 v G& ~. b
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events

- b8 V0 }* H$ W· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors 3 f% [2 T; H/ m; F. g
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events : z( l. w% D+ P1 F- g% G% q
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training - m: N* s, \- ?% Q
· Security Clearance

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work
