Duties: Special Events
; Z; n5 ?& z4 I" o9 K& oPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
7 g2 b, {( a0 S" `· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee $ c& a. W# D9 B. E% y i
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
) [& o5 J3 d8 S: v8 L# Swith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the , s. g" O8 l7 u) R; b! {( e2 t
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
" h( O( V6 U1 m1 s' c4 o( m8 Aset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.
' R# z% s% U* W. B· Attend and manage Special Events ) N9 Z2 n }. m# I
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee
$ `8 R% V; J V& X( ]+ k/ E # L# t1 F; b# k% Q" b* ~/ F) Q
Duties: Volunteer Coordination 4 ]( X. G- t& y7 q- l- c% A
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
& q+ r- a z! o0 M5 u; S' N· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
0 ]; V i! Q# A· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 8 `8 i5 }* A, D- p
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers 6 s6 n. T2 A' e1 o8 F. s
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 1 n2 l! r: {3 p% y/ E; E% J0 H
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

9 E* h) `* T+ QQualifications:
5 ?- s8 V4 q1 c% y· Completion of 12th% \; g; _0 }4 K3 L# e
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
( t# Y$ j3 d/ i9 \% A& t- [Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
& M7 [' c1 M& ? o· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
4 w! d8 m; E$ _- ^experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events # M. B! l9 K5 B2 M5 w
· Experience working with and managing volunteers ! E, V: }4 x, I/ j
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
3 o' a+ @8 \% {/ ^· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
) c3 `2 R- J v. U1 Y5 H) n' E( ?· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training
% U8 ?4 R8 e9 A% x, F5 y· Security Clearance 8 C+ O! a! h; I6 J* U8 Z1 R
5 C s/ t% P! x/ f% GHours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work
