Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special

Duties: Special Events : k, C; V2 V' x( n) J4 N+ M
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: " D( Z# M4 J- `, H* A! p
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee ( g ~2 A+ b: U& ]
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist ( d+ T( {" O' _; I8 F
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the $ ~ T Q! d- p% z z5 f
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure ' C& ?5 I7 e/ a7 v( W7 H
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 5 n* Q" s% p4 h, J
· Attend and manage Special Events
; m* w# o) H8 \8 C5 g· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee . E H% q. i3 _

Duties: Volunteer Coordination 5 R0 }! x3 q& O
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: " L2 H V5 b$ d
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions : n, K7 c; @ ]# b
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
! A; h8 Y. W$ K {& w· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
, A# Z, t. _' B& P/ }· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers |9 L1 ]6 }, [1 I5 Z, y
· Complete program administration, statistics and records 2 r8 D4 W3 c! y0 |8 @, N" H

8 X0 a1 d6 O% T* ]7 d2 s· Completion of 12th7 W: z7 O e& F8 H1 r6 W0 N& Q
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
* S9 Y% W: S$ `) @2 \2 MAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
; |: m6 Q; t8 g# a9 ?5 ^· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
* G' K8 U& k& O( n1 o$ n& qexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events + X# w1 ^/ t+ l- ?1 z) k$ _9 F8 K
· Experience working with and managing volunteers ; D! X# y' R7 j6 m$ [) l4 p' M/ i+ C
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors 5 w/ V# J/ D+ ~; c5 }
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
8 b! S$ [( q; @0 p· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training + U1 T. a; }8 v1 U
· Security Clearance

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work 3 c) P3 \6 `8 \
