Duties+ Z$ X7 p/ \- A5 c; |0 A _& n
/ `, z; S0 Q- l+ n6 Z * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory
) q' x4 m7 O9 c * Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr9 `! u) C- M) `8 C1 N* ~% f
* Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps
" \4 f1 s! m) c X! N' u * Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations
; `% [) e% ^5 U7 F' x$ e7 z * Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations

* Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred
9 q3 g- I8 L, g- ^+ U$ W$ W9 P * Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
- t* e: I: r! `6 H0 Z+ G * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers

* Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset
