* Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory' t6 }6 j z8 ~/ o; b5 g _; [
* Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
+ J$ w. ] }) B* p% b * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps
7 A" M. O) U9 X2 i4 O) f * Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations. Y- A: A: x+ y$ S) I+ c
* Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations0 |3 Q# L7 w2 G7 y

* Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred5 j6 D9 m* w; M7 a
* Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
' X" F. m5 O; g+ L * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers$ g4 p% t3 C2 m6 Q" O$ \
* WHMIS training+ W- U- V E( _* k1 d- a0 A
* Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset
