Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. % w( I6 e% ^" D" m( T9 i

( @3 O' y$ l4 w7 I) a1 gActivity Planning and Daily Activity
2 ?7 `; A5 }8 O* Y0 _+ ]! _. N• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.! ^- o% U f2 {7 g
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. $ o* A9 t3 [0 N# {
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
7 y# K; K D7 ^0 u4 T* N• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.) F5 |7 Y: d! v2 J0 j6 b0 e
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.% {2 U7 S& x& P" u9 }" i
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.7 q1 H: V" h4 C" O( N

The successful candidate will have:
$ ?5 O) J4 H* e. W• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting7 z7 w4 U0 q* B1 x) Y2 [) F* P7 D
• Experience with children
/ P8 I1 F' X' d+ ]+ I• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
3 f0 ?% c) E$ |1 f* n0 _5 G7 @• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.

• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
( e- }0 q8 N; S, a$ Z# C• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
: z; n" g2 w# q1 A5 h8 L• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
