Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

) [4 `% G: e0 k: h- @9 a5 J& TKey Responsibilities Include:
( @3 O' y$ l4 w7 I) a1 gActivity Planning and Daily Activity
2 ?7 `; A5 }8 O* Y0 _+ ]! _. N•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
7 y# K; K  D7 ^0 u4 T* N•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
$ ?5 O) J4 H* e. W•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
•        Experience with children
/ P8 I1 F' X' d+ ]+ I•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
3 f0 ?% c) E$ |1 f* n0 _5 G7 @•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
1 X8 |0 v* k' ?! B; o•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
( e- }0 q8 N; S, a$ Z# C•        Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
: z; n" g2 w# q1 A5 h8 L•        Documentation of a  clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
