1 A% Y' Y6 u* D- G3 YBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. ! K6 v# ~" N# G0 |8 v

(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

Activity Planning and Daily Activity4 A% W; p2 n6 ~9 g
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
: T+ t2 c8 Q* J& _• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. 6 ?& ~( o4 o: g% ?7 s% T: z8 U
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
0 V; ^ b1 C* P• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.7 t$ [ h7 U- B: u
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.8 ^$ X0 y; c, }. |8 t3 X
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.6 H( s- e1 E- M# K! \

The successful candidate will have:" I' D, c7 ^4 b R# c
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting/ W9 {- b6 O& J5 u4 U' D
• Experience with children, D4 J8 T& Y, q
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
' J3 Q5 ^1 Y$ v# {• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.3 P% S! l' x- p& O% O
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
& ]0 x. b. P4 }6 g2 ]• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources

• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check 5 R5 i5 F/ y+ F
