1 A% Y' Y6 u* D- G3 YBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

- H& o4 o# k+ A9 z- iKey Responsibilities Include
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
: T+ t2 c8 Q* J& _•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
0 V; ^  b1 C* P•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
•        Experience with children
•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
' J3 Q5 ^1 Y$ v# {•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
& ]0 x. b. P4 }6 g2 ]•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
# d" M1 T: s) ]2 e' H" Q4 y9 m•        A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
•        A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
