Performing product upgrade activities in the Production environment
8 ~" W1 E  d: A0 n$ GParticipating in data migration and conversion initiatives
7 v1 U# p* R0 Q& TPerforming changes to software configurations as requested by the customer
( ?( R5 g. S* G- L) r: lPerforming  the analysis, design, development and review of production  scripts (datafixes, queries; ad hoc and production batch jobs - extract and update)
Troubleshooting production issues
3 k2 v3 e6 {/ ^% Z. aParticipating in the development and documentation of standards and procedures for work performed by the Application Support team
4 G0 r/ J- \' a* P2 aMaintaining information required to support products after implementation (e.g., changes to customer contact information, changes to authorized approvers, etc.)
+ F" i* h1 Y4 n) V0 o5 IProviding technical and work management of 1 – 2 analysts on small projects
Providing application and environment training to other SSD Operations employees, primarily other Application Support Analysts and Customer Support Specialists
Developing tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Application Support team.
3 S; w- k; q+ F6 }4 C, ZWork directly with clients, both internal and external to SSD.

2 _" }2 P0 f* s6 F* O: _Qualifications:
General:
Diploma or certificate in the Computer Systems field plus 4 or more years of practical experience in application support and/or software development
Experience using standard development and/or enhancement methodologies
% s% ^/ }9 V' vDetail-oriented, strong analytical ability, exceptional trouble-shooting skills
! c! m  {1 y  y2 E6 `& SStrong organizational skills; must be able to juggle a number of complex tasks at once
6 z) t+ Q8 ]& V7 n# |Strong communication skills, both written and verbal as incumbent will be gathering requirements and presenting solutions to clients, both internal and external to SSD.
2 K7 }$ w4 h$ ^9 c3 VTechnical:
Required:
Experience supporting applications in a UNIX/ORACLE environment
Demonstrated experience with UNIX shell scripting and SQL/PL-SQL
Experience implementing, maintaining and supporting automated (cron) jobs in a UNIX environment
Strong SQL skills
Desirable:
Experience supporting applications that use:

Java
