動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.

. i" L2 \( ~' f: X4 e% `The boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.9 ^" z3 y2 U: D

8 n. l3 W. n5 kThe Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. '

Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,( x: z/ n$ b; Z. `
are you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '

Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.

The little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. '

'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.7 t% r/ H. p1 Y# b
『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。9 z: c: R% Y' }+ C

Then he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' ': ?5 G9 q  m2 I" p0 J6 n

A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.

6 Q- @, L" u4 P6 n' FI finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started.

Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young1 G0 }# \9 j) P- A
woman and a little girl.
( r! O1 X( S  o我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。

The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical+ `" w7 q  V  C6 [  @2 B, q
state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the( d8 L' W* E! L! z1 ^* O: O5 I2 a
life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma., U! m" J. D0 F& N. Y
小女孩當場死亡,母親呈現彌留狀態。 這個家庭必須決定是否要拔出維持生命機器的插管; }  W) d( f& S& H' `: Q

* W  J5 w4 P7 k- U0 H" d0 YTwo days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.

I couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.
0 ~# m* Z+ K- @+ ^1 R8 G/ C+ r1 o我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。

" C, `6 l& i; i# x* Z0 l7 cShe was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.8 d# n! y2 B3 W6 d! c% J6 p) g

And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him.* c; @& i( Z1 j# U
