"Two cases of human swine influenza have been confirmed in Alberta -- one in Calgary and the other in northern Alberta," said Dr Andre Corriveau, Alberta's chief medical officer for health matters, in a statement.$ A5 M- ]' w) Y- I7 o& o
4 E, s0 I- y0 s% L2 p1 H; {, f, I"Both individuals are male and have experienced a mild form of human swine flu," Corriveau said, adding that one of the patients already had fully recovered, while the other was nearly better." Z3 M5 G/ y) N8 Q) L/ _: l

"These cases show that our monitoring and surveillance system is working as it should," he said, calling both bouts of the potentially deadly illness "mild."9 W* j8 c; o; D) X: D- j
