FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
% [) E& j4 j; _summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to / i( ]% t: e! l3 J( ^, O$ S8 q
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 5 @4 v9 |- O0 I u5 u
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ) S( E( X4 G7 x8 |: b
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 8 c, v- [7 S' Q% _3 Q. w2 w
well as the script, magazine and book library.

: d5 i# |* ~3 ^) q" g- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books

4 I- N" [! e8 g( X6 v1 U- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
3 `& b* `! p) y3 ]) G8 S- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ! M0 r4 z9 G) J: Q9 _5 [
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
/ ? ?! ^& z/ M' q% ]3 I- Strong organizational skills # Z" V! O0 M! x/ S# y5 p3 b5 \
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
) c' a1 _( A" a, p6 L- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 3 L; O7 [8 v/ \( F( e
- Strong team player abilities
