FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
- S" h: a {- jsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from + s# O- Y& s0 G6 V: R$ J- |6 W
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 9 J Q8 s+ l( O% l, N$ Q
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
* m- _% {: Q7 f: ?! nresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

; @3 E" \6 @( K* ^Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
6 J, \- ^; M- Y! }" }! C% PFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
" s' u/ ?- [. i6 y2 qwell as the script, magazine and book library.

3 O* ~. c5 M( j0 N$ |- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library

- Implement a catalogue template for future use + A" a6 H$ w# ^* ~
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
! F7 `: Z& X' }0 Q& S% z- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-7 [& _8 y, P b$ D9 k
secondary training, university preferred ) u+ K( }* [5 I7 p& c* [* Z$ L# y
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: , y* m! C: E& v6 |, u1 U
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 2 D% Y; _, X1 v |0 ^
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
