! c% U6 t% r5 NFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the + f7 U1 w' v% `3 }2 z! v0 @
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
6 }' B( J$ R/ s, U0 ?) bsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
7 \% j: S0 O/ X4 dAlberta.

2 [* C$ i; j$ L5 J, }FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
. D! G8 W, m1 D2 ?+ _emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
% h) t7 S! R$ m$ Iand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
1 K" W, i" L8 j8 X L' p1 kresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ; I# a6 |* W4 `: l# |! B; W
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 4 e# X! C4 n2 @
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
M3 F! @' X1 ] }FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
1 N2 f2 }4 Q7 F! f5 m6 Awell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
% U2 X* l! `* x" j# L7 c! e- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 4 M9 S, ], s3 P6 z
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 8 T! W! b: X. Q' e( B8 o7 D+ A8 t2 B
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
( l H F p/ j& V- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
$ L" y) ^9 I. |! d, g5 [- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable , m5 v/ X: O/ U: j

secondary training, university preferred

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
7 M4 h1 H: W4 w( X' P, C5 X( N- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts R! G+ N; C. v8 |: S5 G* e7 ]
- Strong organizational skills 7 A- r2 y* L! D6 D4 p) n8 z" C, G
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
5 P9 p( ^- y9 O, p* O% J) d) `- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 2 T! {! g' I! D4 W+ }! \" u }
- Strong team player abilities 7 t+ W. x8 |: b% R
