FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 7 o U+ {) R! o* D8 [# g. P0 L
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
% L, ~0 f M& W7 Sartists from Northern Alberta.

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ( F9 a; [- S6 s2 J8 g7 t) f. D
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
: F$ p2 n* O3 C) NDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ! [' E4 V, e9 y. D! I6 j
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 7 q( ^, J$ m' @
" `* T( g6 p3 n aDuties:
* X, @# V7 {; \; b% t4 O- Assist with research on acquisition grants e# D, E4 y2 j) C' a6 E. Y
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities / b& ^6 D1 ^6 c& v3 m+ ]7 }
- Assist with equipment maintenance
) \" N0 C" {# s% y- Assist with production logistics for programming events 5 @' g' m& T$ M
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 9 }# P. W6 q- k9 ]7 l& X+ g' M5 m* j8 I
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 6 ?1 [: H& g: M; A) W% P9 F4 H
- Provide vacation relief ; @; p( c' f( X' F: C5 h$ X

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
