( T2 n9 G! M% c3 I v! P& ^9 VFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ( ]& o. ]+ Q4 u1 `; q! T- l
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media " b/ @" s$ S! K
artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
* E6 e1 e& g8 g7 w" u& vemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video # p$ g, U* s3 x- x# Y- p
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
1 H4 q- _5 f/ d# j) Mresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
4 |6 h# ]# n5 g2 C* \: @+ Q) y" Q5 fscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern " F {1 I" s3 \9 s, V% O+ x

) j' g- g3 M" r: BDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
' m1 d% d$ H- N; Eassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 8 B ]% j, L. ]% R: D& K

7 }9 w8 E7 n8 }7 C8 C& `- Assist with research on acquisition grants
9 R% t: D, C' C. Z7 i- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities , ~& g4 f: _, k5 ]+ T, L
- Assist with equipment maintenance W0 `2 S4 u$ Q# l1 S
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 2 _% `( C4 _' C3 _. q$ u1 o
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 1 }( r5 _8 B: M7 U- L2 ^2 U
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ( r1 i4 h# I- W5 \& y+ K; G
- Provide vacation relief - f+ V" W% C! ^% ?4 n4 [) y

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
& K+ {5 e1 z: [% b! k3 G1 m- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment $ I6 A8 ?. T& P7 G* ]
- Advance organizational and research skills * J0 Y5 Q z9 r( s
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD , n1 ~" K: y8 ] t' V
- Strong team player abilities
