Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

% A. q: V4 x8 v" i' S/ h" e) T1 Z-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
, w( s5 [! N% Y2 ^. h5 |4 Z; l        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
" k# H9 }7 W4 D: E        access to mainstream services
) ^; M3 n/ F  g" b: p# |3 h-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
: K- }  {; F$ n7 E) B# _& L7 T        social services
% H2 y7 l' B6 C; S) I! P0 F-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
& N7 q: z) s- i! P; ^& S0 Y-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
- {0 d$ t1 o' l! b( g-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
- }/ ^6 Q9 q4 m; c) p* A# i# `-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
( }/ a! W+ Y3 k! ]- }5 Z5 ^% B-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

& d  c2 ]) O' V; N" CQualifications
2 l; e9 v9 W/ B) c6 y-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
# o# ^6 j5 {5 E" T  x/ e. `$ n9 p-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
