Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009

Responsibilities:
5 d1 Q6 N5 h' F! K9 Q/ |0 m- Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program
: f/ x% j, m6 G7 j) g: K, P (ages 6 to 15)
" ?5 s5 }8 Q2 G. b- O7 h. P- Recruit children for summer programs! Y! l6 ^# m$ i7 G% h
- Recruit volunteers for summer programs( N1 i$ e5 A, R2 n" j# S. k( U u
- Record keeping7 u9 G8 P3 Q/ L1 o) l5 M5 U
- Provide orientation for parents/ P# W, L% }9 z
- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency
5 f/ n+ {: b; _0 _& M& A- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager

- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education7 w7 F: C2 H- i5 @" j! J% G
- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children( D/ \$ z) l' Y9 O/ g
- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
# [ W, {* F9 j% }4 H/ ^- q- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities2 q( J" u: H4 H5 G/ r9 p6 x
- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese
5 z; o8 q5 z: Z6 O- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
- \+ V. w) h) T' }+ M+ }/ B8 [% m- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision& w+ \! E5 k7 Z! W5 {- y0 D1 r/ f
- Returning student (should return to school after summer)

: e# g7 x2 a, i! ?- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning)
1 @5 d' r1 c* M8 u and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)
1 B9 j+ l+ c# k2 L8 ~- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 2009
