/ M. G+ q; D/ g( f, K! k * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications# d; B7 I0 [* U6 k! q
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis8 d2 v5 M* a6 J" J" H: G. b8 S
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance/ A7 B/ t) }, n0 ^, t
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students : `# a; ?# N8 r, Q8 O6 D
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies) m* l) q3 K1 G m
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs3 z$ m9 j$ Q/ z. L
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment

Qualifications

h( p. d4 n; e! Q* L: V9 z& y0 i * Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred: K; G* K# z6 N$ }6 O
* Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required
