* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications- p6 Y& d& G( R0 Q; T# k' y% e- u
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
% i! c2 \# a( _ * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
9 [6 B* v+ `+ V2 S * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students / ~# S" @6 G" `3 W
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies- T$ j6 W; m. P. \& X
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
Z# ^: I' t+ m) U. @* s* J1 ]2 v * Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment
