A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.! r5 n. J: G' F8 v+ b7 c% `
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and' c) G& p% {# q. N" o
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.

+ o4 r' F" j# H2 h) @& K• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
1 E" H4 ?; f- W; M& O) U7 K• Standard Child Care First Aid
' O* y/ i9 J4 u$ F/ u9 a* p& [0 a• WHMIS
' e9 w! O9 n' K! n• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care% h% q, y+ ^3 r& N1 l) S
• Components to improve communication skills) _; K. I2 U7 P1 c0 o, p Y+ B5 l4 l
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

! _$ o) O" j3 t$ a6 X& `3 h! SEligibility Criteria
; W9 y' g9 X S7 M0 h• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen4 `5 a- G6 x* G6 W" P H
of Canada1 n _8 }2 y }& r8 o2 q& j3 @- i
• have a Social Insurance Number
& @9 X7 M( q" m3 i, L& h7 o: w• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
3 s: E9 U" m. v' b E• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
+ F- J9 N; H- V• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time1 l' m+ s3 P$ J. j

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet2 |. c5 R Y9 N5 T2 t7 t/ s
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
7 h# Z9 G+ u, K/ z. L# N. X• be unemployed or underemployed.
% X* S! h: u9 \( b1 w4 m9 oThey CANNOT quit their job to take the course
