A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.' [; K2 G! s" J; u9 w8 C/ ]
The program includes the following elements:+ K: c+ Q. ?6 |; N2 Z, J
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
" ~" w3 {7 h$ ^. B6 o0 F/ h• Standard Child Care First Aid W3 V$ P6 L7 ]9 j' K& I# m
• WHMIS4 b5 J; K+ w6 x" @& i
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care) d7 L; b3 V9 S) c9 e
• Components to improve communication skills5 n E, h* c: ]$ q7 m4 T+ w F6 S- |
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search2 j; R2 W: C9 O6 {5 N9 r( I% Q
• Practicum Placements

: b7 y9 R% _! ]% g! X# e6 U• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
' N V! d# h( J9 hof Canada
8 d9 j! t4 P( f: {• have a Social Insurance Number
5 a3 m0 K9 h2 v' D# S• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check' V3 T0 c+ u$ s( `* u! b
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent R/ d+ V, T9 N, I& Z$ J R/ O
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time" l2 P5 n4 u1 H! Z
program
( d# s8 N' Q& L6 eParticipants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet2 }4 ]8 u/ P( J, Z0 Z. Q
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:4 x+ A" W! l% P0 q* V6 K, f
• be unemployed or underemployed.
9 k: m& B; \4 \# GThey CANNOT quit their job to take the course, ^! ^6 l: E" I0 _/ }
• meet the financial eligibility criteria5 R% G1 f; u7 w; o) d7 h1 a" K. s
