　　avoid self-inflicted setbacks (不折腾)

9 Y7 H) @4 B$ x  C- u% ^　　“self-inflicted” has the connotation of creating theunnecessarypain for one self.

' }7 d. L2 G, V" Y　　折腾 in Hu"s speech has a strong connotation that such kindofsetback is self-seeking instead of being due to theinterferencefrom outside.

: W& M% S  y! I　　“Setback” is a much better word than “trouble”, whichanunseasoned translator would like to use in the firstinstance.“Setback” especially refers to the obstacle ordifficultyencountered in achieving a strategic goal.
