The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation, but police believe the incident is not random and is likely gang-related.

8 j. h" j, {. Q8 l' |At approximately 2:45 a.m. MT, officers spotted a vehicle being driven the wrong way on Gateway Boulevard near Whyte Avenue.

1 u: _# b L- Y' ]0 w( L% B+ `Upon stopping the car, the officers learned that one of the passengers, a 24-year-old male, was seriously injured.

A police investigation revealed that the three male occupants of the vehicle had been involved in a physical altercation with two other males and a female near an alley south of Whyte Avenue, between Gateway Boulevard and Calgary Trail, which resulted in one male being stabbed.% Y: w+ |' l7 _' H4 o, o( a7 _

The three suspects were located by police immediately following the vehicle stop. A 32-year-old male is in custody and charges are pending.
