In the first incident, a 30-year-old man is dead in what police are calling a "gang motivated" shooting near Whitemud Drive, the Edmonton Police Service said in a press release." O0 M" U# S& Z

The driver of the car was found dead at the scene.

At approximately 2:45 a.m. MT, officers spotted a vehicle being driven the wrong way on Gateway Boulevard near Whyte Avenue.

Upon stopping the car, the officers learned that one of the passengers, a 24-year-old male, was seriously injured.6 t+ a! m' O* o5 E w

He was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries.) K5 F j+ a/ d# c

A police investigation revealed that the three male occupants of the vehicle had been involved in a physical altercation with two other males and a female near an alley south of Whyte Avenue, between Gateway Boulevard and Calgary Trail, which resulted in one male being stabbed.9 e: e# q: J- b& U# Y( m7 H
. x4 [3 o. H( I7 ^( @- o* WThe three suspects were located by police immediately following the vehicle stop. A 32-year-old male is in custody and charges are pending.
