"Markets in these cities continue to adjust after experiencing record price increases in the last two and a half years," the federal agency said.

The fastest pace was in Regina, which saw a year-over-year price increase of 29.6 per cent, down from its record rise of 34 per cent in April.1 e$ R4 j- o) s& [8 O- X
8 {* i8 b& y1 I) GAs the market continued to cool in Western Canada, prices for new homes rose nationally at a slower pace in July for the sixth consecutive month.& c) z% Y5 Z+ Y. {& k4 m- `

Prices were up 2.7 per cent in July from a year earlier, down from June's annual pace of 3.5 per cent. On a monthly basis, prices edged up 0.1 per cent between June and July.

"The growth rate of the index has been on a downward trend since September 2006," the agency said.
