Duties

6 U9 w$ m6 u5 d( Q+ _9 g- N! y; B * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
; t; e* ~3 y) }" t * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities6 E0 x, q6 a7 [) d
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes; i9 `& e2 s( z$ X) ~- Q5 @
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
8 k" t8 [9 P- T6 j" p$ B6 H * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
7 ?, H2 c. M& Z8 N' h! j7 x. h * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
3 H$ G. D, Z6 s) _- T; U * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
4 T% [; V9 M! x" I * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director9 C# O" G) K% _! J3 N
* Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning% B1 g$ t* A8 F4 s2 N; |7 { S/ u
* Develops high quality promotional and educational materials
! S9 z5 H) L, U9 |2 o * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media1 ?2 v2 i/ S9 r8 x& n7 H
* Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results6 t5 @5 @, e( R' G
* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies& R( D0 p6 h* y; I8 X

Qualifications
8 _6 ?( w) U5 G! y5 f+ _1 P
" O; k* R. U0 L% h * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
, j6 ~( ^1 A' x# Z: F * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
5 W. w4 m1 S; Z( E * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
3 u1 z$ W8 Y2 l. X7 Y * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies& U+ ~9 t; |3 R& ?) I- V1 \2 v
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
' B8 x0 l+ W7 n6 U * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning0 C2 V8 q- d' E7 z& {4 ?/ ^
* Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
