Duties

. f0 T: @( l# f& J b! M * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program( F4 r2 w! L# o$ s
* Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
( t: ^ f1 ~9 ]5 J% F, s u * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
6 x' h6 B8 E- R * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
7 r: J5 V/ ]4 ?# _: y * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
. m+ n. Z" z* n* Z3 T * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
! f# w" h! O8 x+ n3 W0 W& y$ E * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs1 j N& ]' @9 h0 I5 G4 }; D
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director+ M0 t5 m! ?' ^! Z7 @
* Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning; A: s8 f2 y7 T( ~( j1 t
* Develops high quality promotional and educational materials$ f- l- |$ r% D% X8 u
* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media% y' j8 [7 P: W7 n7 K
* Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
% p7 o2 t* A. j- `; |( E * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies! d4 A6 c( H; b# S

Qualifications
: D3 x) m8 M+ K( _" t! M
0 D$ W7 B& C$ X; x4 U * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred' k e$ j# W# m: j3 d6 ~4 {& d
* Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
0 i" S/ L. j. s6 P6 { * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset, q. \) G% q: D- u8 \4 M
* Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
0 h7 T$ v1 y9 T+ v7 v6 V* ^ * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills2 Q- p2 n. |. C5 `/ R, Y* V
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning+ {/ B7 v7 K/ y. R) I/ l& Z# x
* Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)1 |( l6 Z% r0 k
