* {& Q+ e1 W4 `8 y1 c
    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
2 Y! q6 g: K$ ?( w  l2 W% m    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
% A0 _, Y8 a8 z" j" T. [    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
0 J* p# x. z; A( f" B: x    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
9 H8 I4 j7 A( g2 f  r& d    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
1 F0 L) I# J& T; I) A/ `    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
5 D; a) S; e/ I3 [& S    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
1 H& ?0 d; t. E' b    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
* [5 q$ K" H' @0 i  W# P% M' \    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications

    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
) v. t  E' K+ k. e/ d9 t    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
5 d3 b0 u, T; L    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
. h' V/ @' W, A' D    * Fundraising skills an asset
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
0 k! @0 r  \- [" Q6 j3 ]    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
