+ B& q/ \2 I4 F8 Z$ C$ C% n- c$ l5 {    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
  q" a4 q. f$ K, E, }: K$ L. z0 G! v    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group8 A) S  r% E( f  f9 b$ h8 N
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators0 A* N( H' k- k4 f. N5 V
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
' F7 r$ Q- @  |& |    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director3 _. v7 ^  z2 k7 Z
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses1 w8 Z9 S) l* f# ^5 [
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
- f# p' U+ l& ?6 X    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
' D+ j9 y+ o+ s% E    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
% m2 `+ ~& k" c; V2 d    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports  v% t+ Z9 v8 f, i- F* F
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs/ v( ^8 V+ s, B( }' S: t  G. z. n9 h5 O
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly7 {( ]2 S3 f7 l6 x$ a5 O
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

Qualifications, b1 i5 `( w( ~& ^

! T3 \6 U/ {, [- |+ b3 Y6 X( W    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
# i6 N" C/ d1 f/ G6 t    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth' x  D/ v: {1 K% q" F
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
- r8 o$ }- D# x" d9 J- Q! k  d; @9 H    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs; p6 p) }& }# Y2 I6 |3 ^
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community( h+ c+ \8 G7 E' t' M# k2 l1 k
    * Fundraising skills an asset3 K" O( M% I. j/ v" B. Y
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills

    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills4 ]. O: ^6 G$ \+ T! x- _: q: O
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
