2 k2 e" Q2 A" F    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region/ }. s0 d1 s5 o+ x
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
1 X: y' t/ g- v  R2 X    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators+ g: j! ^- L' i# J4 m( v
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations! |' M9 H/ K* {! w! ]6 K  \! s4 Q  C, w
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director- G, k5 ?. o% Z* `: ?
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
8 L/ I+ {" k) e3 x    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
  @& i( A% G  _. ~5 o, h' l    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
( q: M$ e! g! b6 b9 c    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment

    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs0 r4 p2 R- g7 r( K9 E
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly

Qualifications( a9 e& \  R3 P6 n: T& j) q0 F9 T7 j2 n

, F. l% Z# i4 o0 {$ e3 {' O( X    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
* _7 b2 A% L) R" _, Q" z    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth( [- A! G  H$ t
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
" i9 C+ M$ |3 p* s. I& G% Q8 K    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
, |( c/ _" @) V) |6 f  e# o    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
# v  e& A2 u3 b$ V: t( t" m0 r    * Fundraising skills an asset
/ [: `2 E7 q& h0 n! m0 j    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
