CALGARY - Six people, including one child, were taken to hospital with minor injuries Wednesday morning after the boom arm of a crane truck struck the front of a light-rail transit train.

The accident happened around 10:20 a.m. when the southbound train was on its way to the Brentwood C-Train station. There were about 30 people aboard the train when it was struck by the crane, which was stationed on Crowchild Trail southbound. The train derailed as a result of the collision, coming to an abrupt stop and causing several passengers to fall, police said, F# O2 L! G; Z

The driver of the train had to be helped by passengers, but was conscious and talking when paramedics arrived.
