Position: Project Coordinator - Karibuni Project / Terms: 8 month, .6 fte position September 1, 2008 - June 30, 2008 / Location: Edmonton / Salary: $23,344 - $32,544 per year, depending on education & experience + Full benefits and pension plan after 3 months / Hrs: 21 hours per week, flexible schedule / Closing Date: August 1, 2008 / Start Date: September 1, 2008.0 _2 `- m0 B0 q8 m% o: q. u1 |# l0 Q

Required: Excellent knowledge of intercultural communication, the immigrant experience, and racism in Canada; experience facilitating workshops in these areas / public-speaking; excellent writing & organizational skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; degree or diploma in human services field. , P4 l9 k4 ^; qResponsibilities: Coordination of Karibuni project, under the direction of the executive director. This project is centered around the existing film entitled Karibuni, a documentary of the Franco-African immigrant experience in western Canada. An English sub-titled version of the film will be ready by Sept. 1. G3 P4 Z2 X3 r0 P, m
; b6 l: j- S6 H" O1 R( EKey Tasks: The coordinator will work with our professional development expert and a French-speaking consultant, to develop and deliver educational sessions in English based on the film, to appropriate groups across the country. 3 X( w( f* d: a7 J$ l

This will involve finding appropriate groups for presentations & making travel arrangements. During the project a user-manual for the video will be created, designed, and printed. Position will involve extensive travel across Canada.8 I/ \# u1 E4 U9 g. V9 @1 r
