! b' `4 W& D& X2 C+ w8 u    * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
* j/ y% x. m6 }. M    * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
- y; c, O( o" F    * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
& t2 n" i% K' D; U. x    * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
    * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
- f. m; O, P' e' o8 y3 P    * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals
  ]0 w. r/ e  O  n" x    * Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab
8 _7 [. Q* q4 Q    * Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
* k+ l# {' V2 \" i( v' X7 ~: f/ b' P    * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

Qualifications
" d/ ]; t$ B' C% i- ~' q( _, v  I
; E, K, U8 W2 J! Y, K0 m( P    * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
  Q/ d# F% @6 I% f& f    * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
    * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
" A- K2 u# a* ]7 `( {' Y    * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
    * Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment
