* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis1 L! V$ t$ ]$ w& \. a
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography8 ^$ F! p2 p3 h# b1 W
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
' u) v# ?: F ]( g- ]3 ~5 ]0 o * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
# \0 U0 l' K; g' d7 \1 X& O1 N * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
" ~9 b" P W! m: T Z * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals

* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices$ {1 p7 \* Y7 {" W% w
* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

( G9 C1 F* {5 Q! D+ D, q * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred8 ?4 t$ W& I: }! F) A/ D' f4 L
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
7 j4 Q9 ]( u3 k: ]+ B8 o * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel9 [. j1 a4 X [7 z" X1 Z" D
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures: E* ^) K! S# T& }5 R6 M) ?
* Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment$ l. m* n7 w0 V# w
