$ z! e# J  o3 [$ H' i    * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
    * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
) R; ~! T( H4 B# |: u( ]    * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
& k5 o  |8 h6 [9 F    * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
; V6 f+ Z4 b* V5 w  ^/ M$ C6 P    * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
    * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals
8 }2 T- {& f" {' N    * Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab
    * Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
; M/ C: U1 l$ K1 Y+ {    * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

  }3 L/ A  B4 f$ V/ BQualifications
$ s7 P( s" b5 A* z: N/ C) O
    * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
    * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
2 _# B# ]% b" q, ]* p# e    * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
" |% V5 T% {! {2 F7 e    * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
