8 m: Y$ V. i* b; n+ q, R+ GContext: The Edmonton Waste Management Centre of Excellence is a not-for-profit organization with projects in research, training & technology development in waste management. The position is based at the Wastewater Research & Training Centre, located at Edmonton's Gold Bar Wastewater Treatment Plant. The hourly rate will depend on qualifications and experience.

5 T- U$ w7 n& \; C4 [* G0 _Key responsibilities will include: reception functions at the WRTC; receive visitors & respond to general inquiries; help ensure facility security and safety policies are applied. 2 z+ R2 x3 @- r& |) q
+ I- Q1 h7 d7 Y* q3 Y( dAdministrative functions: update documents, dBases, directories; arrange for mail & courier services; document copying, printing, scanning, faxing; check general electronic mailbox/forward inquiries; update & maintain filing system; assist with committee/staff meetings; take & distribute minutes; schedule meetings, book room, send out agenda, order refreshments., O* T l5 x7 V+ g9 ^# j

PLUS: assist with Hosting of Delegations/Tours; maintain inventory of promotional material at Gold Bar; compile information packages for visitors to the Centre; book meeting rooms, tours busses & order refreshments; handle room set-up, housekeeping, provision of supplies & invoicing for services provided.& h6 F/ d. y+ ^
' s$ s* _' r' @% V3 B0 ?# T, KIn addition: assist with Organization of Technical Seminars, Training Courses and other Events; book facilities, arrange for shuttle services, arrange catering & supplies; confirm speakers, accept/compile presentations; handle registration of participants, invoicing/payments; train & oversee facility users on operation of A/V equipment.' ~* R0 z9 Q' u1 g2 D$ A0 G- I
S# v$ e3 {% w- }8 u; [The ideal candidate will have: a high school diploma, proven work experience in general office administration and an interest in working in a not-for-profit organization with a focus in the environmental field; an Office Assistant Diploma will be considered an asset. ) D% v7 i( j+ [# r7 X
& R/ |4 l; y/ d" w4 }$ i
You are a self-motivated, highly organized and flexible individual with strong attention to detail. You are a good communicator with effective interpersonal and teamwork skills. You are able to multi-task and are skilled in using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). ' K6 s' s5 L! e1 w$ q
8 V# L, g8 J! ^. j+ F7 D9 J2 VPLUS: You must possess a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License and supply your own vehicle for business use as required. You will be reimbursed in accordance with the Centre's car allowance policy. On-site parking is provided.% Y0 V) E3 w, A9 ?; j
