1. Chemical list and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s)
' d8 M6 E" _3 Z K. \: x• help complete up-to-date chemical lists for all laboratories within the department
+ h" a6 r% B6 j8 I( \' X4 O6 x• collect and obtain MSDS’s for all chemicals) {/ t+ w" l2 I0 x
• make sure all chemicals are properly labelled and stored
2 g: S- ?% n* L, m2 K• proper disposal of all unwanted chemicals
: Q+ _! Q# F4 ]8 m0 V5 ^3 o• finalize chemical lists and then duplicate and label all MSDS’s for distribution to OH&S for the MSDS on line system., V. ?7 D" _1 W, G& M; X

2. Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) and Hazard Assessments (HA’s)0 y# Z* K# j/ o. J z7 K9 k* `* u. b9 Y
• help update the department SOP’s and HA’s. This will include verification of existing SOP’s and HA’s and tracking any that are needed.

7 E& p3 E# X) p6 z& p' J• help develop a tracking system for adding or removal of chemicals as well as continual updating and verification of SOP’s and HA’s * F1 i$ L2 H; n/ P& ^) p% D
2 f1 j/ t4 V4 H V/ P: Y" yCandidates should be inquisitive, thorough, and willing to learn. Some education and/or experience in safety is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment are required.
