Wow. In edmonton, if we're talking about academics, then it is definitely going to be in the following order0 R* Z1 N- Q Y+ R* X

Strathcona is more known for being a "jock" school - in other words, very athletic. It was also more populated with caucasians... I don't know if that's changed in the last 4/5 years... maybe there are more asians there now? Don't know. + \% R4 M' t2 m, B3 O$ U8 ^+ M& j7 F
, u% k' m1 x" z# R) R7 ?8 r' EAnyways, besides Strathcona being well known for sports, I have never really heard of it being well known for other attributes... Yes there is an AP program, but as far as I know, IB (as offered by Harry Ainlay) is still more renowned. Also... Harry Ainlay has a french immersion program. :)+ @4 M2 a8 e) X$ o0 A* D% g& l

Vic Comp used to be attractive for "artsy students", but now, the new Lillian Osbourne has taken its ranks for being an artsy school...) E. y& ? Q$ G* o- `, J0 Q: q
. D( s! f& r8 BOtherwise, I still consider Old Scona and Harry Ainlay some of the better schools around in terms of academics :)

Like I said, I graduated from high school a few years ago, maybe rankings have changed. But when I was in high school, this is what the schools I previously named above were well-known for. Hope this helped! |
