What activities will I do during my road test?

the test may be stopped.

tests. They should be courteous and professional, keeping conversation at all times relevant to the

( ~" \$ E& o- C· You must have your Learner’s licence. If you have a temporary licence (non-photo)

· Wear clothing that is practical for driving and comfort. It should be appropriate for the
+ Y0 o: }. K: fweather conditions (in case your vehicle breaks down and you have to wait or walk).
1 y% E( L* |! S& x b% `· Your vehicle must meet all legal requirements (good mechanical condition, valid4 p0 g4 ?( B3 b( q% P
insurance and registration) and have enough fuel for at least one hour of driving.$ p( ^* C2 w4 l9 B; z% J

The Examiner will do a vehicle check with you. You will be in the driver’s seat and the examiner will ask you to
, U3 I r" U W8 p# yassist in checking the signal and brake lights, horn, brakes, and steering. You will be asked to describe and, o0 u# N% B" l4 z$ h( ?
demonstrate two of the instruments or controls inside the vehicle, such as the hazard lights and windshield
0 W" z; X( { j4 K) g0 D8 _wipers. The Examiner will provide information before you move the vehicle about the route and the instructions7 i1 B% K* \1 S, `+ k, a+ p

· You will be given ample instruction in advance for each manoeuvre and activity.

You must not do anything that is considered unlawful, dangerous, or unsafe, (for example, speeding or not

· The Examiner will not try to trick you.7 y6 ]" p1 w# v1 \7 w5 ]/ u) M2 @
· The Examiner will not ask you to do anything illegal.

The Examiner will give you a copy of the Driver Examination Checklist form. You will also be given a copy of the) w. e: I* f6 B: z5 r& u
Test Permit. This will indicate that you have passed. Take this permit, along with your learner’s licence, to any
8 S% l& d4 X8 {3 I8 h5 f4 ^Alberta Registry Agent to have your licence changed to a Class 5 Probationary Licence. There will be a fee for this
[- `2 R1 B, V+ D9 aservice.

The Examiner will give you a copy of the Driver Examination Checklist form. This form will indicate that you have
