What activities will I do during my road test?

The road test is about 25 to 30 minutes long, including instructions and feedback.

Who is my Examiner?

· The Examiner will introduce him/herself and provide proof of identification, when requested.- u; l) S0 j! i* ~7 R. O* `
· All Driver Examiners are licensed by Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation under the Driver Training8 v4 M4 g( D! r5 C7 r& {% a1 C
and Driver Examination Regulation. They are monitored to ensure they provide high quality road, Y6 e- K- M8 v0 w
tests. They should be courteous and professional, keeping conversation at all times relevant to the

; G$ O- @0 B7 f8 \4 yWhat do I bring for my road test?

: s' t' \! S3 i. n# M· You must have your Learner’s licence. If you have a temporary licence (non-photo)! `- w" Q* e" m! `

· Wear clothing that is practical for driving and comfort. It should be appropriate for the

· Payment for the test must be made directly to the Examiner or Registry office.

assist in checking the signal and brake lights, horn, brakes, and steering. You will be asked to describe and

wipers. The Examiner will provide information before you move the vehicle about the route and the instructions0 J0 r8 b! V7 S' D

· You will be given ample instruction in advance for each manoeuvre and activity.- E# ?/ H4 p& M9 F7 _: U& p9 A
· Points will be assigned for errors. You will be allowed a maximum of 75 points to pass the road test.- `- ]' q L" Y. d+ F
You must not do anything that is considered unlawful, dangerous, or unsafe, (for example, speeding or not( u) K5 L6 J7 Z4 F& F, p
stopping at a stop sign).

$ B( j; b0 e; i, z6 m( b9 M· The Examiner will not ask you to do anything illegal.
& p( d5 a4 V! |· When the road test is finished, the Examiner will highlight the areas you performed well, as well as

The Examiner will give you a copy of the Driver Examination Checklist form. You will also be given a copy of the _0 L7 m/ N! R7 ~. k
Test Permit. This will indicate that you have passed. Take this permit, along with your learner’s licence, to any' j4 a7 ? Z3 _0 _! M6 a Z
Alberta Registry Agent to have your licence changed to a Class 5 Probationary Licence. There will be a fee for this
/ _3 B7 h/ @' m S' Y; gservice.

What do I do if I do not pass my road test?

The Examiner will give you a copy of the Driver Examination Checklist form. This form will indicate that you have
