He also brushed aside a plea from the province's aboriginal chiefs to halt approval of new projects.! `0 P2 U6 w7 j$ V9 F" b

Stelmach, who famously said he doesn't believe in "touching the brake" on development, dismissed as preliminary a call for an immediate suspension of government land-lease sales in three massive environmentally sensitive swaths of northern Alberta.+ X& M( ^6 C8 ?4 i7 v& L# k

I'm in shock, even the energy giants are telling our government to put the brakes on oilsands development and Stelmach still refuses to do anything about it. Is he completely deaf/dumb/blind? I think the majority of Albertans realize that something needs to be done, whatever that something may be. I don't understand how Stelmach feels it is O.K. to be so careless. |
