Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community' j' A) b! G, \, ~ R
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
! S) x8 l9 F7 z) p- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services3 z7 Q6 a, @3 ?1 m
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies

- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members6 n/ S5 f8 o( q3 ]. z

- prepare and send AGM information to members

- assist in writing proposal for ISP

- explore new ideas for ISP

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education ( T6 c1 P ?9 H1 |, G7 l
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills8 L+ I9 F- E& G( _3 Q5 C
- experience in community work and immigrant services
