Position title: Community Development Worker

* m& y" _- p& ^5 Q( F5 O" J h) qPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services4 I8 o& ?3 d2 ]4 Y& E
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
- b+ R4 L/ t* t X5 I- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies/ m' ]' B1 F I- |. n9 a* e
- coordinate good will activities% w0 T# q/ f% e0 V
- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members9 L6 I h5 N, B/ O* J
- submit information for community news

- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.5 P0 {( n. J5 \ z
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

- explore new ideas for ISP

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education

- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
