) f, }) O4 O1 l! y9 S( qPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. 3 j2 }& ^" e. S z q; E

- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services

- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies

s! K8 _. Z& ?1 p9 q. ^ X" K" a( C- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- prepare and send AGM information to members

- update ASSIST website
& _ b+ a n3 e6 W7 H$ m6 v- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre* h/ R \4 p0 j* V1 G. p! R
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services: ]5 Y6 g8 F, o5 P0 {8 e3 n
- assist in writing proposal for ISP
9 n% E- v/ A3 e9 @! u' c, Z- write quarterly and final reports for ISP3 v5 {0 m% L1 d5 f+ G8 \2 s; W
- explore new ideas for ISP $ A2 M7 n W4 I/ _; l
- hold regular meetings with ISP team* o& Z- q# H- O/ c/ `
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications5 [* e5 P6 Y' Q* N3 l
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education ( _8 x0 A2 h& v; y% a
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
. q7 ?5 A! T; o/ F/ I- experience in community work and immigrant services' J/ W/ x# |. n4 |; c) i: r
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
