• responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff

• provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions

• provide opportunities for staff development and growth

• overall management of all agency projects/programs and services1 x0 @; u3 ~% P5 y; {& m8 o
• design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities$ N! e2 `: }: q2 ?( o8 v! \$ b
• prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders2 Y% a" C0 V0 f6 \+ o) _" E; `
• set program priorities and directions

" U+ t/ E7 P- r2 z9 Q• implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends

• ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others

External Relations' V' @5 p( V& q% e& _+ o8 l
• act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities! v' r: G# R" J$ f5 ?% v5 a
• build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public & funders2 p# w8 t/ l4 h% z
• communicate the value of the organization to the public: g- d( }( i/ ^4 \$ e/ @5 P
• identify community needs and trends
4 E2 a' z7 Y/ L: s• coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups9 \8 r/ k0 l! s% o* V" `9 M- C
• advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups
" d+ h+ x0 [! _4 `! h• work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.' q( D J9 v5 R
• Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff) J) o$ Q1 I4 \0 B( o
J' r+ Q9 y7 bQualifications( U; U' O& B" F6 F4 f
- University degree in a related field;
4 L' ]2 r5 c- J# X( a; S/ `1 @5 B- Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;
# M' E6 _2 r7 `$ e$ K) W' u* E4 t- Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management; . ?# `+ [; y3 n f
- 2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization / V! `. Z# h# G' Z
- E+ y/ J0 ~4 }. xSalary
% a& D' r+ W' v5 T- $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits " f* `" V( a0 k' {
