• is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals

• develop, implement and manage operational and programming budgets

• responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff

• provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions

• overall management of all agency projects/programs and services+ p# m9 v+ I5 r; Y, g$ h
• design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities
( C/ p& J3 p& s• prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders. O1 o5 U4 z0 b9 m1 Q
• set program priorities and directions

) r& @0 E: i5 s+ j! X• implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends) X4 R$ S3 z' S6 _" Q
• conduct program evaluation/survey/research

• ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others: Q& t, B5 N; I: M! K

• act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities

• communicate the value of the organization to the public. F2 P) e d1 f. J* u
• identify community needs and trends

• advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups; ^0 c, O% q0 G
• work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.

Qualifications; R5 U* J# f9 Z: r. l
- University degree in a related field; - j6 x8 w$ } G
- Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;+ }$ r% T8 d1 K* t* Y, W
- Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management; ) C1 C3 T' @- k; Z) \+ w( p2 c! U# B
- 2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization R q3 |3 c4 d; l% i1 O5 B; `
- {: Y: A) r1 h3 k
Salary
7 k5 h8 S- P; \- $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits
