Job Description

/ E" \! I: j2 o- H; \1 L) ]•        reports directly to the Board of Directors
" K1 d. j9 G) n( \•        is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals
3 y8 b! F* Z  E. ^4 U$ X•        is fiscally accountable to the Board with all projects and administration of the agency within an approved budget by the Board
, L, ]4 D. t. i5 S•        assist the Board in fund development planning and implementation

•        is accountable for effective administration of agency / ]7 m# k% I; z& |: R
•        is accountable to meet community expectations and funders’ requirements 5 g+ C8 w; }, e! P3 e! q8 @/ \( V
•        develop/review and administer operational policies and procedures
- N* t9 U5 {5 E" ~•        development and management of the programs budget* m  e( `( i' `% E
•        develop, implement and manage operational and programming budgets

•        responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff& a( \8 n8 Z  p' ^  k6 ]
•        provide leadership to staff and volunteers+ g/ g9 ^/ g$ C; T8 B) y* W% z
•        provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions
* O5 m' w" t& ]; P  Q•        monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators
9 f' N/ v9 }. V/ W•        provide opportunities for staff development and growth
9 j9 F8 S" g  f7 W5 B•        meet with staff on regular basis* V- Z/ n0 D' u, {$ a# v2 |2 @% K
•        build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff) i, S/ \  T" c- R2 v: J" q

! N) b& V" z: N4 R* A•        overall management of all agency projects/programs and services
- |; M& c' }5 d) i5 E- V•        design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities
+ D# H4 K( n8 h) _5 N•        prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders
" W) T: a0 Q9 z3 F; S, @•        set program priorities and directions
6 i7 I( C; U, k# Q+ a1 x. o/ Q•        identify community and user needs and trends
' k. K5 f$ n4 L1 n•        implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends2 j1 m3 s9 @. t* S. C5 I$ I
•        conduct program evaluation/survey/research" X0 m) o" {8 x$ h/ [4 K
•        maintenance of appropriate reporting8 r0 J9 D' z( A' Y8 v
•        delivery of program or activity to participants as required0 _6 F4 N  o* e& {% H% T
•        build on knowledge of community resources in program development+ R' J' H& m4 ~% R- U7 c4 C
•        ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others! h; g5 ]/ u  B

3 _& G  s5 t, w1 a- w) I* ]+ J  RExternal Relations
& H: P# y1 I3 F. m5 N) N•        act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities
- Q2 c$ u* x6 L•        build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public  & funders
' o  y  H! w/ g•        communicate the value of the organization to the public: u: D4 I0 T9 e
•        identify community needs and trends; a' U' R  {) F  ?1 f& n
•        coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups
+ t; D/ C! d$ x' z" i( b, e•        advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups
1 ]; o1 ?! Q+ x1 O. o  g! q•        work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.. g/ c8 q4 H' B4 \4 P
•        Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff* t$ n$ G1 y( p4 M
; M  \8 g7 x& v: @+ K. d$ h
Qualifications! _2 y6 d9 ~  {: O, J
-        University degree in a related field; . P5 L8 \; S) a
-        Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;$ n. T  X4 t5 G- G  K
-        Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management; " I8 N6 t1 p7 O  L8 c( e
-        2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization 8 W! Z6 P* d4 q

/ u8 \' d0 _7 i! t- k5 J5 WSalary% T+ N$ i9 R7 x( L# L' c0 |
-        $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits 5 {: z" K# z& v! \' {/ d

8 x! r* N! E# z) zStandard Requirements
' ^$ Q. a) t) n3 w; J-        Security check ( at the expense of employee) and child welfare check
