Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities- c2 I" Z: J/ G6 y# B7 t
- submit information for community news 7 v8 M1 u8 f) s5 C P! q0 p
- provide volunteers to update membership database
& f" Y# v7 i0 f# W- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
' U4 Y1 C" g) V+ b# J- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
- y" B7 r! k8 A; |; {7 n- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties# h4 `" C6 R5 R
- provide volunteers for various programs
/ I: Q) [" r7 a- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
! B" {7 J% y0 P+ ^( T. q- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
, p: k$ [8 i# X- u7 N: T- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
& X" U) T. o- ?* g- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
* a& j# c/ w% _, i! b- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports1 W$ z7 ]1 {6 ~( \
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
V2 ~) Y6 M4 C- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed, I4 {" v" ]+ F" Q: E* T' k
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)4 O& Q6 M7 ]$ \2 M$ R( a2 N- K
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
3 T- e8 r) `) `- T- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
: O/ i. h3 `7 g9 g- K- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers / f, h1 M- p( V, b) H8 S) W$ m
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 8 W1 T2 _8 L' m I1 q
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis $ E# w1 f/ j+ Q- n( J
- evaluations ' T. W: L; E3 s5 p1 B( V9 Y
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications1 h7 B/ i& j+ z
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
" G* J# W/ s; R% k! l% x- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
" ~8 V$ Z8 X+ {) I, L' s9 `- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
7 p5 a* R& H) m$ o) A* v* K- leadership skills# [+ W/ _' u- Q. {4 U
- management and supervision skills
, Q2 O% K% d0 H% z& |- r+ _- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills( ~2 K5 ?$ C, @; n( H8 }1 x
