Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator - W' n7 U( G2 p+ |' G& m
Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities4 ]) k! O" o S' j7 P
- submit information for community news 2 O9 I: J9 r# v* ~. q+ }
- provide volunteers to update membership database$ T; o; j" K5 O
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers* U+ }1 k. d. S! b
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties7 H7 ^9 J4 Q' H8 D/ z5 |
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
. S/ m. P+ g7 l- A3 @- provide volunteers for various programs : v9 X2 j6 r) _' H
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
% ]8 B) K$ _+ L! }7 X- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
8 w- o1 ?; j' m1 b: o% O! B- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities/ D+ e+ s& t9 X5 o; e5 h
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
1 Q( |, N! |" J: ]3 i- T" o. U- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
" V4 P7 D9 K' o" r8 s& Q- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed6 V5 x# x" x% C0 B; w F# ^
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
; D% P( x- o+ B3 z. t- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
0 v, o& G6 ?* O! O4 X- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events

7 M2 A/ m: R ]0 G5 [- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers ( g" @7 S2 c- _, s: o/ R
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
- v1 L( v8 w6 {8 g7 {- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
7 w" k- U6 U; z) a, w8 K% x D- evaluations
7 r: j& t3 l3 Z/ Z2 P7 C- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

/ Y/ m3 E9 h9 {4 E3 z+ d* ~- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education: U% U' O: F0 O- w2 b) j
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills% y( c: [0 T4 q7 h4 n: t/ p* o
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
' o& G9 Y* U! Q1 T: t9 m- leadership skills
" N/ n4 |6 B9 a" q; c1 P- management and supervision skills; A# r' \; e) p0 l7 p
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
