· To ensure the day-to-day compliance of the venues with existing

focuses upon advertising and promoting the venue to faculty, 1 C* C: D# h# I- Z
students, and internal and external clients on an on-going basis.

· To develop and maintain promotional materials, the Horowitz
. A: ? D4 E2 t1 w: F/ ^# H" JTheatre and SU Venues home page, newspaper and other advertising; to
* {, @& ^2 U: s3 @* G: f$ ftake advantage of other internal and external advertising
! y+ S" R& Q; _ s1 O4 |+ t' copportunities; and to develop press releases and other promotional

· To coordinate tours of the venues for potential renters.; i! [( K0 o5 w% F& A6 k
· To promote upcoming events in the Horowitz Theatre through the . ~) L3 G5 C7 Z% _2 m7 S0 b
use of the Horowitz Theatre Home Page and the SU Events Calendar.& t) Y, S, A% h
· To develop new external clients for the venues.

3. Staff and Supervisory Roles and Responsibilities+ i9 G8 U: Z; g- @2 c
3 z; f) S P* @7 Pa. To ensure, at all times, that the venues are adequately and cost- 2 }. w6 i% h% B2 U
effectively staffed, and that the staff utilized by or within the
K1 U/ [; A1 V0 ?' M' U+ Wvenues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and
6 g! c3 Y& i2 P8 X5 u3 g* Hcontribute in a positive way to the smooth operation and success of 6 v8 c& N8 n) U8 P$ l) a0 C) t# n
the renter´s events. This includes, but is not necessarily limited 9 o+ f" m/ T {& @2 ~
to, the following:
+ A0 I! |8 F6 {4 s$ G% U6 i· To be responsible, under the direction of the Manager of Venues
, d( S+ {0 n. ]6 q. x, J _and Programming, for all staff issues including hiring, disciplining,
* h* ]( V1 \, k8 t4 zevaluating and terminating, as necessary.+ P+ ~; y6 Y2 S# i3 w# p
To ensure that the Horowitz Theatre is adequately supervised at
0 {- H2 }" @5 d: [, u2 ]! d: r+ Eall times, this includes the development and implementation of such + E5 R! j; i$ A9 W7 R
schedules and rosters as may be necessary to ensure the effective and ' J: p( z6 K+ v/ `+ E+ ]
cost-effective supervision of the venues at all times during which it . P% Q7 O, O% P5 E) p
is in operation or needs to be in operation.
3 F; S& L5 c. T0 n( r· To work with the Technical Director, when necessary, to ensure
# r* C+ d4 @. M9 [# L! F. }that an adequate and appropriate level of part-time staff exists to * n8 i( d& _' `1 d6 Y% x1 S5 L z
facilitate the smooth operation of the venues and to ensure all
, l; J- A; O" p4 n3 D: h9 rrenters needs are met.
. F" F" k4 B3 A W% y" r( L· To work with the Technical Director to ensure that the skills
# t0 \( d; a }9 Kand attitudes of all subordinate staff are appropriate in light of
+ o( H5 \6 b4 B3 o: Y2 p* sthe roles they must perform. This includes providing adequate and
9 M2 n4 L0 B) d f4 z$ | d1 ^! aeffective training (and re-training) in all applicable and
: Y3 F- Z: v# a# T' Cappropriate areas, and ensuring that the Policy and Procedures manual

· To work with the Technical Director to arrange staff
; e) G- k3 P& m1 Y. Lscheduling. To handle payroll related matters, under the guidance

the appropriate setup/tear down of each venue.

that additional requests such as licensed receptions are arranged.

operating budgets covering the venues to the SU´s Manager of

· To manage the venues in a manner which adequately and effectively

administrative documentation covering the venues to be used in the

Administration with a view to determining and implementing action

costing systems to be used in connection with the determination and

events held in the Horowitz Theatre.& w; j" K; ?, e; _7 }; n
· To develop accurate documentation to be used in connection with * [" ?" [# @. N: r& P/ ~
the billing clients, and to forward such documentation in a timely # P8 p6 q! j3 r' B- N$ X
manner to the Accounting Department.

and administrative procedures and systems in a manner which reflects / a+ `# M7 o4 }7 u
the requirements of the SU´s Manager of Programming and Venues and
7 W/ t- O# j( ?9 FManager of Finance and Administration, and in a manner which

a. To ensure, at all times, that the systems and processes used in " a0 @) D: x( i( j9 J, c) g
renting the venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and , b f( y& S; `" N( }& C
needs, and contribute to the smooth operation and success of the ; a4 C+ a5 B. t
venues. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:4 h) X8 I: J& z! v6 e9 o; q) V

· To recognize, develop and set in place such rental procedures as & i5 k; R" `" A0 Y; ~
may be necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the venues, this
0 D+ A2 R8 y7 _% h4 e- y8 H; ]is to include but not necessarily be limited to systems and processes 4 c3 ]+ w$ e& B2 \- Q# W2 ~; ^8 ]
in the areas of contracts, inventory management, contract evaluation,
' O* ^- Z+ [; b) e( bpricing, costing, equipment usage, rental/contract invoicing, ]4 b9 s7 k9 d0 ]) @ |
together with such other systems and procedures as may be necessary
4 d3 W& m0 b+ T/ F4 ~% e9 c: Ato ensure the smooth, secure, efficient, cost-effective and 0 a! U: q. u1 ]$ v& t$ J3 b: L
functionally-effective operation of the Horowitz Theatre.2 h$ R' ]: j+ _$ l
· To recognize, develop and set in place such operational procedures ; y, I; ^+ S" H# c3 U
as may be necessary to ensure the smooth, efficient and cost-
5 x {* x* ]+ a+ I4 B4 q! deffective operation of the venues.3 W& ]" y8 l& b" ]. j, g
· To negotiate rental lease agreements (contracts) relating to % K7 Q$ d& w' H! t
dates, rates, staff and miscellaneous charges.
( H$ P8 w8 T: G2 |0 @( T· To ensure that adequate inventory is available at all times and . O- s7 n0 x( B2 k$ M* v
that such inventory is stored and issued in effective and secure ways.
U) C1 V! g& z3 _4 ?· To consult with renters as to facility issues in producing their 5 ^% {1 a6 Y: Y% S
particular event in the venues.+ G( v3 ?2 Q3 D+ x4 g4 R. _. ^4 Z
· To provide the venues on-site staff with such documentation and
$ W x) _' L$ F% Ksupporting information as it may need to effectively fulfill the # U( ~6 t0 L6 p' [8 Q7 w
roles they are to perform to ensure the success of the renter´s event.
3 N1 u" c+ W% g· To produce quotes in respect to staffing costs for a particular ( q$ Y* H; |3 f, L
rental with consultation with the Technical Director.
|/ O( t m8 i% k* [· To ensure that all queries raised with the venues whether from the
. [$ Z, r9 }- d7 ^$ u8 U" ^/ k1 VSU or renters, are promptly and effectively handled and adequately # |8 L$ N* F. G1 X( z9 O2 C
answered, and to ensure that such action as may be necessary in
- G4 v" m. e4 K6 Y* p/ p& a0 Efollow-up to such queries is taken in a timely manner.
6 I& i+ N- V+ s4 x0 ? To ensure that the venues and its capabilities are adequately,
+ M$ X1 F; _ ]# f8 r; g7 t/ }( Aeffectively and cost-effectively advertised and promoted, and that
5 A h; }$ Y: Dthe cost of such endeavors does not exceed the budgetary provision

Programming and Venues.

marketing, administration, operations, and any such other matters as

· To attend such meetings as may be required to support the smooth
