financial and operational success of the Horowitz Theatre as well as * d( h5 p6 l5 X. ^* h% h+ t
the logistical organization and smooth rental of the additional

· To plan the capital and supply expenditures to meet the

a. To develop and implement a marketing plan for the venues that

students, and internal and external clients on an on-going basis. 1 ?, ~# g* P/ c& i/ `" r
This strategy will include implementing and/or delegating the following:
q7 {- o [$ H1 K1 z( [$ v· To develop and maintain promotional materials, the Horowitz # q& M% a) c* Z! d1 S
Theatre and SU Venues home page, newspaper and other advertising; to
& {- D3 c/ I/ ]$ ~. v: O$ x% etake advantage of other internal and external advertising
$ F d$ o/ r% E( ~4 a* Hopportunities; and to develop press releases and other promotional
$ H9 l* _( Y7 |4 t a" Vliterature on an ongoing basis.3 h% `$ s2 y& w u+ l: A9 V
· To coordinate tours of the venues for potential renters.
9 H$ | g8 Y( F! Y- q! B· To promote upcoming events in the Horowitz Theatre through the 3 z/ m* r3 t5 K9 ] K
use of the Horowitz Theatre Home Page and the SU Events Calendar.

3. Staff and Supervisory Roles and Responsibilities0 p. {$ m/ L. C$ H, x: ^
% A2 U- o: x2 K1 @$ Y0 G, pa. To ensure, at all times, that the venues are adequately and cost- 9 u, E# P r8 a: T" Q% f
effectively staffed, and that the staff utilized by or within the
5 N5 Z# |& J' [venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and , @9 ^ x4 x! q7 ]0 K5 i( ?4 e
contribute in a positive way to the smooth operation and success of
' b3 Z0 {, ]* z9 `1 uthe renter´s events. This includes, but is not necessarily limited
! C+ x# m1 |, Z+ G3 vto, the following:
6 f' A- e0 k' g( \& x. |· To be responsible, under the direction of the Manager of Venues h3 P. K T% U; J: @: f
and Programming, for all staff issues including hiring, disciplining, : I- U8 R# ]( X1 e' \* D
evaluating and terminating, as necessary.1 L, o9 K3 U4 X! K: L, Y
To ensure that the Horowitz Theatre is adequately supervised at + _, D" c; {' _
all times, this includes the development and implementation of such
3 ^+ s- W( X" ~, t) Eschedules and rosters as may be necessary to ensure the effective and
- {) y' ], X5 Q4 V6 a' Rcost-effective supervision of the venues at all times during which it / y/ @" {8 H: E+ d* S
is in operation or needs to be in operation.
# W4 _9 a& C8 a3 Q· To work with the Technical Director, when necessary, to ensure ; A2 U( {) M: S
that an adequate and appropriate level of part-time staff exists to
. T( M; {) Y, X+ }* e& _ ]facilitate the smooth operation of the venues and to ensure all
; a8 Q- x5 f% frenters needs are met.
6 ~5 o7 y- K/ V+ B. o· To work with the Technical Director to ensure that the skills ! Q8 g2 O0 l! C0 g: z
and attitudes of all subordinate staff are appropriate in light of U+ h" H: N% V D, \! \+ t
the roles they must perform. This includes providing adequate and 0 _. u9 R6 ]* e0 y. C* [' [
effective training (and re-training) in all applicable and
" p9 W2 ]5 l5 e( ^! oappropriate areas, and ensuring that the Policy and Procedures manual

· To ensure all staff are trained in and committed to providing

· Working with the Manager of Facilities and Operations to ensure : ?, U( X/ k+ y( |
the appropriate setup/tear down of each venue.! W* g4 u4 \- W$ g+ y
· Working with the Manager of Programming and Venues to ensure ) m& V2 [$ _0 a# {; ?
that additional requests such as licensed receptions are arranged.

9 I' m$ \$ I! \a. To ensure, at all times, that the Financial and Administrative
g+ N6 f5 ] u1 w3 xsystems and processes utilized by or within the venues meet the : o$ V& }* t; `
appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and contribute in a 2 z& g3 n& Z2 Y" I" C
positive way to the smooth operation and success of the venues. This ) x" L8 B2 m0 r$ r9 H9 P8 `
includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following:
+ t' F. ^7 v- b9 Z/ a# N% R To provide input and expertise in the formulation of appropriate # {5 i' f/ q% @1 r2 O& G
operating budgets covering the venues to the SU´s Manager of - A. o$ j0 H5 b+ |
Programming and Venues and to discuss and refine those budgets

reflects the budgets approved for the venues and/or which reflects

, s& L+ e8 }% t% m: b) i· To function as the key player in the submission of financial and
' m* |; G/ ?& Z' Radministrative documentation covering the venues to be used in the
" s$ V/ T# u( jcompilation of monthly and annual financial statements, and such $ O! ^6 [. @' k$ D2 i+ Z2 b
other reports as may be necessary.* t5 g1 ~" o4 k* [& M& l5 U+ p
· To discuss those financial statements and other reports, together
# W/ u" b. S% k4 p& S& U7 P& vwith all financial and administrative procedures, with the SU´s

Administration with a view to determining and implementing action # O5 r) j1 A" _# i! b1 j. T }5 Z& v
aimed at improving the financial and/or functional effectiveness of

· To ensure the existence of adequate, effective and accurate job * k! T) D- \( ? H1 ~( R! Q
costing systems to be used in connection with the determination and 5 b+ @! P' K; a C: s8 I
setting of appropriate prices for rental and staffing rates for 2 @; u7 Y: Z# ~8 I; [' R
events held in the Horowitz Theatre.# v2 T5 N/ A- _* i8 v+ \
· To develop accurate documentation to be used in connection with

· To recognize, address and handle all matters relating to financial
& c; u$ V- N2 ~and administrative procedures and systems in a manner which reflects

H+ t& b/ o! }Manager of Finance and Administration, and in a manner which 3 [ @8 b8 {( e7 k8 u m$ g# T

venues.

5. Overall Roles and Responsibilities
) F( f3 K+ S2 K' O, S+ pa. To ensure, at all times, that the systems and processes used in
1 \' ]3 f2 b+ w, A/ l% {renting the venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and 7 q; f9 t* E( y) l* F
needs, and contribute to the smooth operation and success of the ( S( i) j4 Z' J% l
venues. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

* W' K7 B! s) \& s& [· To recognize, develop and set in place such rental procedures as ; `) X' B6 d/ R G; B, x+ X
may be necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the venues, this 8 ^: B9 o) f, ~ P. F; T
is to include but not necessarily be limited to systems and processes
; E! D9 t) k8 K; ein the areas of contracts, inventory management, contract evaluation, 1 o2 x/ s$ B8 _4 e! C
pricing, costing, equipment usage, rental/contract invoicing, ! j1 Q5 J" |) `3 q
together with such other systems and procedures as may be necessary ) \, r/ N- y6 v! Z: w: i
to ensure the smooth, secure, efficient, cost-effective and 5 G) [( J. h0 h, \
functionally-effective operation of the Horowitz Theatre.
0 a8 ~+ p% C( p· To recognize, develop and set in place such operational procedures 5 O0 c* c( `: e ?
as may be necessary to ensure the smooth, efficient and cost-
. i+ E/ f w+ [! |. g3 n4 w0 w. Y+ i( x Beffective operation of the venues." Z9 q: N/ ?6 O, g& n1 a) ]
· To negotiate rental lease agreements (contracts) relating to * L6 E' y- I: e$ F1 ?
dates, rates, staff and miscellaneous charges.8 n9 g% R i/ `1 Y( u
· To ensure that adequate inventory is available at all times and 4 W/ O" s. {+ ^. y
that such inventory is stored and issued in effective and secure ways.* |% a& ]4 P% D
· To consult with renters as to facility issues in producing their y: V1 t2 O) H% K4 ]$ b4 O/ u" N; q* B
particular event in the venues.( ~, C8 C R7 k! _3 w v
· To provide the venues on-site staff with such documentation and 3 W: ~- N$ ]# I7 W
supporting information as it may need to effectively fulfill the 3 _1 t$ T# }+ C' ]# G2 L+ W' z/ p
roles they are to perform to ensure the success of the renter´s event. d+ s$ D9 Y! V/ {1 P. H
· To produce quotes in respect to staffing costs for a particular + k/ s5 _5 `5 X( A- w- R. ~
rental with consultation with the Technical Director.; @/ |/ B* Y5 n6 ^1 A: `
· To ensure that all queries raised with the venues whether from the
& C- a! v2 f, S3 z% Q8 JSU or renters, are promptly and effectively handled and adequately
4 b) z( C( U& U# m2 U7 x( w9 k: s$ sanswered, and to ensure that such action as may be necessary in
7 j* w5 x/ j6 @3 Z) l$ Nfollow-up to such queries is taken in a timely manner. C& f+ j1 ?2 @ G; ~. q* p) [
To ensure that the venues and its capabilities are adequately,
8 I0 P9 J' v# D0 keffectively and cost-effectively advertised and promoted, and that $ F) `: [& L% g0 [
the cost of such endeavors does not exceed the budgetary provision
- v1 K( ~$ B4 ]# u/ gmade for them unless prior approval is given by the Manager of
* {* I" ~- n9 a# F$ rProgramming and Venues.) b3 y7 ~# z& V4 j8 {) z; s
· To act as an informed and knowledgeable resource in the case of
; R$ ~2 }" u% E8 csignificant challenges and/or problems surrounding the tasks of # j7 q2 O* A- s3 |" }( Z, U+ K
marketing, administration, operations, and any such other matters as 3 ?* Y/ U% }$ b9 d" y3 |3 u
may provide such challenges and/or problems.. g4 k1 ]) z) ~( z
· To attend such meetings as may be required to support the smooth ! r+ n: Q$ ? b8 J+ R3 N+ U

· To perform other job-related duties as may be required by the
