Alberta Finance, Edmonton - is seeking a highly motivated economist to join the Economics and Public
0 T$ s, y: ~7 J6 |& U' y  n5 K9 u* IFinance group. This group is responsible for providing the government’s economic forecast, which underpins
the revenue forecast for the government’s fiscal plan.

6 k1 J5 @  B3 J+ V9 T0 pYour main responsibilities will be to monitor current economic developments, analyze trends and assist in
3 S% \6 b9 P/ ~) Wpreparing the economic forecast for the Alberta government. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you
- `$ t0 f: W! m" u) imonitor developments within Alberta and the global economy and assess the implications for Alberta’s
4 ?' ^' ^0 ~" y" Jeconomic performance and major revenues. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will enable
you to present the results of your technical analysis to a non-specialist audience.

You will work in a team environment and be comfortable in defending your analysis and forecasts to others in
. R  D: K4 r% J, W6 C  h' Kthe group. The ability to manage numerous projects will prove valuable as you will have to meet multiple
deadlines. The ability to develop or enhance forecasting models would be a definite asset.

& U! j. _7 `. `3 YQualifications: Master’s Degree in Economics is preferred. Equivalencies (such as a Bachelor’s Degree and

% p$ D  Z7 A5 K% r, stheory and quantitative methods, familiarity with economic research techniques and knowledge of econometric
2 j0 z" L$ x; w& p: |8 psoftware (e.g. ESTools, Eviews, Shazam), and excellent communication skills.
