Finance group. This group is responsible for providing the government’s economic forecast, which underpins
; p8 M: M' i  vthe revenue forecast for the government’s fiscal plan.

  o) Z9 [1 ~% B; N$ iYour main responsibilities will be to monitor current economic developments, analyze trends and assist in
* u: J4 H. P% E7 j( M7 x5 kpreparing the economic forecast for the Alberta government. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you
: x7 p/ s" `- [4 Imonitor developments within Alberta and the global economy and assess the implications for Alberta’s
- k1 p4 O* y; m: \; d) L% u+ P8 teconomic performance and major revenues. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will enable
you to present the results of your technical analysis to a non-specialist audience.

4 z5 H4 ^9 ^7 a# d: g2 ~You will work in a team environment and be comfortable in defending your analysis and forecasts to others in
9 r+ R0 Z" T! E( H8 D8 T1 x2 nthe group. The ability to manage numerous projects will prove valuable as you will have to meet multiple
deadlines. The ability to develop or enhance forecasting models would be a definite asset.

- ^; L7 j, i7 \5 EQualifications: Master’s Degree in Economics is preferred. Equivalencies (such as a Bachelor’s Degree and
significant relevant work experience) will be considered. This position requires a strong grasp of economic
theory and quantitative methods, familiarity with economic research techniques and knowledge of econometric
software (e.g. ESTools, Eviews, Shazam), and excellent communication skills.
