This is a long term posting with the successful applicants being called to fill positions on an ‘as-required’ basis.8 v# I/ N1 F8 ]. y9 G: {7 M

FUNCTIONS:/ k/ @9 V0 P8 f% V) q7 ]* D; j
• Transport passengers to and from destinations on prescribed scheduled routes.
8 b* z9 A6 V9 O• Collect proper fare, issue transfers.
+ }) M( \1 y7 r' E8 Y. o6 }• Respond to customer queries concerning transit information.
( M+ v: _: D" t• Operate a Transit diesel bus and/or trolley coach, on a day, night or split shift under varying weather
( w6 |5 z" v- Y/ G% Kand traffic conditions.

• Obey and follow defensive driving guidelines, local traffic laws and Transit system regulations.

• Handle diverse and challenging situations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:6 m5 w; A9 e: t* D$ r# u
• Grade eleven (11) or an equivalent educational level is required. Formal training in driving or public relations will be considered an asset.- ^! i$ K: i2 N! D( r
• Proven ability to deal directly with the public, with well-developed customer service skills; the ability
* f: C1 G0 `: t# ?" wto be diplomatic and courteous in dealing with the public, from the first passenger to the last passenger

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job (operate bus controls, re-set trolley poles, provide passengers with assistance i.e. strollers, wheelchairs etc.).2 s7 s$ ~( _5 t, u8 |+ d
• Applicant must possess a valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's license (non-probationary and non-graduated) and must have held a valid operator's license for (3) consecutive years." i8 c5 a' u9 @
• Selected applicants must pass the Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's class 2 written test, at their own expense, prior to training.; f; P" Z5 r h+ C0 P$ h+ s
• Applicant must provide a current driver's abstract (obtained within 14 days of the video test date)

• Ability to pass a written English comprehension test, a public relations video-test, a driving skill

• Successful completion of the ETS Training Program.

1st year: Guaranteed minimum 67.4 hours bi-weekly% h9 A Z7 S! N) K9 ]; l7 G
Thereafter: Guaranteed minimum 74 hours biweekly
