JOB SUMMARY: The Chief Returning Officer reports to the President of , W' u8 q1 H2 p; X \6 y$ y
the Students' Union and oversees all electoral logistics as per Bylaw

Standing Orders by April 15 and serve from May 1 to April 30 of the

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:! F& l' \, y) E! M8 E

1) To run the elections as per Bylaws 2000

2) To run referenda/plebiscites as per Bylaw 2000./ c) j1 {- m9 K8 r$ Q

3) To choose the Deputy Returning Officer(s) and assign their duties.* n2 c& i: S2 t0 K: F1 S! P( f. j. q( Y6 v$ _

4) To organize polls during elections/referenda, including appointing - Q( ?. j+ y. F0 S6 c4 l
adequate poll staff and situating polls at appropriate locations

To enforce budgetary regulations as stipulated in the Elections

minimum of four (4) working hours a day, between Monday to Friday, * k5 H0 K- Q; }- |; g2 t% i
from the first working day after nominations close until the last day
+ g( F [% W; v# _of voting. These hours are to be posted in advance.: q% z% T/ D, I
8 O+ Q* _+ A* v0 K7 U" T$ {11) To act as the arbitrator in any dispute which may arise during
+ y6 }0 o6 ^/ R4 J" ~3 b7 othe course of an election/referendum.

12) To ensure that a cost effective and accurate ballot counting
( K! l9 u/ I4 W3 d* gprocess is in place.

13) To submit to Students' Council, prior to April 30, a final report

QUALIFICATIONS:

{6 ]+ w; E. z' }# ?for each of the terms of Winter Session and shall be a full Students' " F' D {6 M6 A3 B4 H5 A
Union member.

- H4 {' v; ]3 ?( j% P) V# i2) Must have some experience in student elections.

! b$ H6 i) u' Q$ {, [5 q. F3) Shall not concurrently hold a position on Students' Council, or
