5 v. ?0 }0 T% d% a- L! ] \! n* {Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management, Y6 ^. f4 G) V) u6 z) a+ g9 z# [/ T
and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
7 D! l5 ~" t( G; i2 V- L# znon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta. The ED
9 m, e9 b, g6 [; u! i+ r8 A+ `works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
( j- P, Q3 T5 R; ypolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's; b+ n; z( ~* W% _
affairs at all times.

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a" h6 E q$ c6 ~0 ~$ K; X6 H% o
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
4 _% f- r8 ~$ X9 S1 X" k4 S) m! C$ Sarrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,- b2 H! W9 ^% k5 X5 }
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports9 m. {8 m' N" b3 _5 B
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
9 E& l* k0 j2 {to implement the organizational policies.. U9 N' n! {; l9 |/ V" Z8 s/ Q( i
, \7 k* t" o, Q0 k w% oPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded7 ?. J: i0 E* J$ b, O" _2 |4 w
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and }$ ?! x$ N n3 l$ G
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have7 O- ~" P$ N5 G# p3 u5 P4 U+ S" c$ |

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the, M: b3 u' n1 Z

that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts! S9 V( A- M+ B; @
payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of' H4 |# R2 s( P' V) z6 d S
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.: c( A `. [9 U1 j9 h9 M
5 S- }/ Q0 m! ]" JKey Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
/ j4 m7 D& f% S% G! |' P4 a8 `including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government2 u( \8 R/ `% `8 \
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of, \# T! \, x2 X
organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to2 l5 l0 A, x& z1 P0 W$ c
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
, M3 f. \/ [! q+ Kmanaging projects and budgets.
