society led by a youth board of directors to enhance/encourage youth
volunteerism in Alberta. By working with nonprofit organizations/youth

. `3 Q3 e% O$ Worganizations and citizens wanting to build healthier societies and more
& C' \! W! U1 hsustainable communities.

Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
4 a$ ?$ H, _+ a$ t; Q, J5 Q, Gand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
affairs at all times.

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
to implement the organizational policies.

  F7 L4 Q. Q* A6 hPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
, K4 U. W! h' S/ m; R& Gas per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
the right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

9 |( W0 L1 b5 h! t* _7 cIn addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
8 e- m) l8 v% }) j7 v* E2 gthat bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
6 U, L% p7 s0 \& d; K& \/ y* H+ E& Bpayable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
+ Z. o/ ?. z# l% ^$ zthe organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
) `1 w9 N# r* _partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
$ C& X" O6 N2 B5 z# Zorganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
managing projects and budgets.

PLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
processes an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
3 B" T0 e) q- t0 b, wproposals; A youthful spirit and enthusiasm for championing and working
with youth.
