ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Position Responsibilities

: R  O7 ^4 f6 e8 w% ~8 bCommunity Initiatives Documenter
The CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.

) H8 g/ f. A$ ]' n2 M& TEducation Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.

: j9 v! S- `, c0 ?Qualifications:
1.        Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
- X) S  U; _: j2.        Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
3.        Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
2 \& H4 m; Y5 R- C* P4.        Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
