BARTENDER - Room At The Top (RATT) - includes some serving

22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  * g$ Z& K7 A2 {2 Z9 ^
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
# F8 I7 i8 B$ f9 s4 ^procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  1 K0 y7 j, w/ _, }3 |! ]2 N' @. m
cleanliness and order in the bar.

3 j7 B) w. C' B# r' s# }* u3 @; ZDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:" T1 O. k- P3 x' \8 A2 P
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  " J$ h3 R# [2 |; R3 N. ]; f
beverage items.

. ^' h& C  u/ X; E; x2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  5 u- T! E. a! d' F& G1 }/ M; d+ e
bar and debit floats.9 P' L% ]- U. L6 r" q$ s/ C( b
- A. l9 A# P) o8 }1 ?( D
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  # ]3 k$ v  W; n# A3 Y
each shift, and upon closing.

' Q2 h9 T9 H: j# H8 `4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
- E! c/ H, M2 C9 A5 e4 Z) Yattention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
) r* a9 M9 D& d* t* Gseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.
4 i) s+ O# G5 l" l: b9 `# V6 G$ y" k: O
5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  % {- H$ v6 n8 G6 k! ]9 n8 m+ k
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
8 S* E4 w' s) ]- d, c1 Aproducts, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift., ]9 ]* C/ u& q' r3 c' \" r

5 `( ~! R; R+ h3 g( l6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  $ L4 p" d4 V1 D! B) ^2 W8 n
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  ! I/ G# Y+ B( {" N8 C+ f  y
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  & y- |! _4 T) h- |9 v, j
accordance with Students' Union policies.

7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  6 S+ ]$ Y' X3 @: t5 Z
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room." e  Z; ~3 w, |- V& L
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  + R. D' ^1 z/ I$ n' ?, n; G
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  4 l; C3 j+ X4 t' @( Y

QUALIFICATIONS:) X3 B2 N$ \+ c0 k3 w
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.6 |1 A0 h: A4 s6 z$ E8 o2 M8 a

, y  r% j, P, {) ?7 M4 x! j* V( m2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  3 ?3 F/ e9 M$ f8 `& }0 f0 h
operation.3 k7 a( O' m4 g8 y! j/ P0 d

  v+ }# B/ S7 Q3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
6 L% G; H1 O1 i# N8 M/ X3 saccordance with Students' Union policy.

5 k: S1 C& k5 \! O9 U, Z4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.! m4 O2 X9 P9 h) z6 ^9 U$ B

/ z6 W* `. t! a( B, AUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic
