* T& T6 j4 c2 qJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
2 x" L5 i# @# p) v% g! B; H. aBartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
2 z5 H2 l& {% t* n) jcarrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
9 s& g2 l. a( t1 ecustomer service and room cleanliness.

" ^% }5 b  z- _# w: N( nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
; T# |2 T4 d5 A1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
4 @9 t2 [+ b, ^6 g8 Porders.

, g' O* |2 E+ K7 V0 `; [2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
+ c# ?, v6 U' F2 n* }high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.

3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
including regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
$ V& s8 b! k& P  wand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
0 q- {+ M7 s, v. M- eaction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
- b* N7 A8 k/ f6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
, B5 U, b4 M3 Z) Q% sAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

: ~' p2 f6 K' U& f) _# A  I) @7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
  w. Z; G% N. j+ w/ p. gManager.


QUALIFICATIONS;
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

' O6 S( a+ b( u/ m- U1 h2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.

3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
policy.

: ?$ H$ y( J% x  g! @- h& y" {- d4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
- X" d5 D. N) ~card transactions.

, ^) F% J& z7 Q5 ?& D7 h: n5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
9 r. Z' E: Z7 U; g0 _, bprofessional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

$ y/ F+ U4 D( v2 ^; ^  a7 MWage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food
