SERVER (RATT)

11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and  
Thursdays

+ }" h% X; Z; BJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
- K+ d7 G- M9 W7 Z8 _! A0 o, aBartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
- M7 ~2 |, P* ycustomer service and room cleanliness.

3 x, B( \2 }; R4 V% s3 T
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.

0 d# Y: X7 s0 a4 C3 q9 d2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
* ~3 @- I2 z, G  x+ e% [high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.
  Y3 u  S/ ^( q
1 y, ^9 ^7 u' n7 E& Q* J& F2 ]3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
5 H& v+ s) t: [$ itotal cash-out value of items sold on each shift.
! d/ u: H8 e. w
' Q5 ]6 O$ R9 B+ s2 D4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
  w+ j$ v; s# W( Qincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
and ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

/ q. i& ?3 H6 P$ b5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
action when necessary in accordance with established Server  
) S+ z/ p  ?( ?4 f6 Nintervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
  v, @, {7 U4 e5 f8 W6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7 ~& H) J, w' u+ n7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS;
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
+ ~' r8 h6 `% x' ?6 d! K& d
2 O* L2 k! a+ @; ~% r2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.
% D  B: o8 X- ^" S) F- l: N
3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
! T4 D( Z4 P+ _& @( C0 ]5 epolicy.

/ e8 N: U' P# R- h4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
card transactions.

; g4 v  b5 D  S3 [1 Q5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

7 f/ o& c- W7 CUnion Position

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
