JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
# W1 J( J! \) Z) H! O+ T& CBartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
" ^- _7 v- h. W2 o8 I. A" rcustomer service and room cleanliness.


3 q& M0 A: @' _9 \+ h4 J: XDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
9 _% R6 Y; v- M5 ?orders.
" S& T# w9 Y: Q
: ]0 e9 X8 \  N7 u; o5 {2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
9 e% _1 |( S0 ]% q7 R* \* khigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
  _) g* F0 u0 I- N; b" A. maccordance with Students' Union policies.

* @; I) {- v6 l9 V6 y$ J3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.
9 G: ^* y. K. M2 ?. [- A
4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
including regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
% \, W3 M; Z" S- q* `8 sand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

5 Y0 D) s& \) C! H- s  s! S5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
action when necessary in accordance with established Server  
1 I1 ?7 f1 R2 e/ P( X6 Bintervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
* e# m( Q% d7 M  K6 G& _5 W6 u6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
& X; C* y, g1 c' AAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

1 e9 ?: G, M! \" A: d0 @, I7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
Manager.


  ^) B8 k5 }$ \$ a/ AQUALIFICATIONS;
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
% Y, x5 L8 Z" ^
$ `+ a- p: f0 i0 }# Z  O& U2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
6 n2 U& R* d, ~5 G9 c' q* Poperation.

9 ^2 S$ e* ]4 i" a$ Y3 H( k3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
( w1 D# w1 W7 L* ?9 J0 c8 ?policy.

4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
$ Q6 R" v- ]1 ?, H7 \card transactions.

5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
4 F+ V" S2 ?8 d; g% cpurchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
